TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDERS

Derby City Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to prohibit use of the roads by traffic.

TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE ORDER ON ALBERT STREET AND VICTORIA STREET, DERBY

WHEN: 27 October 2026 to 29 October 2026 (20:00 - 06.00) Daily WHERE: Albert Street and Victoria Street, from its junction with Corporation Street and Morledge roundabout to its junction with Wardwick, The Strand and St James Street. REASON: Carriageway works ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Corporation Street – Derwent Street – St Alkmunds Way – Ford Street – Stafford Street – Curzon Street – Wardwick and Wardwick – Cheapside – Bold Lane – Jury Street – Walker Lane – Cathedral Road – Full Street – Corporation Street.

TEMPORARY FOOTPATH CLOSURE ORDER ON BUTE WALK, CHADDESDEN, DERBY

WHEN: 30 October 2026 to 27 September 2027 WHERE: Bute Walk Footpath, close footpath from its junction with Shetland Close for a distance of approximately 30 metres in a Southerly direction. REASON: Works compound within footpath ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Shetland Close – Nairn Avenue (and the same in the opposite direction).

TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE ORDER ON HAWKE STREET, DERBY

WHEN: 28 October 2026 to 29 October 2026 (08:00 - 17.30) Daily WHERE: Hawke Street, from its junction with Cheviot Street to its junction with Bright Street. REASON: Carriageway resurfacing works
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Cheviot Street – Mackenzie Street – Napier Street – Morley Street – Hawke Street (and the same in the opposite direction).

WHEN: 23 October 2026 to 23 October 2026 (09.30 to 15.30) WHERE: Acorn Way, from its junction with Derby Road Roundabout to Derby City boundary – for a distance of approximately 1.5 KM. REASON: Annual highway maintenance ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Acorn Way – Morley Road – Chaddesden Lane – Nottingham Road – Derby Road (and the same in the opposite direction).

TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE ORDER ON BOYER STREET, DERBY

WHEN: 27 October 2026 to 29 October 2026 WHERE: Boyer Street, at its junction with Abbey Street – for a distance of approximately 20 metres. REASON: Drainage works ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Boyer Street – Farm Street – Woods Lane – Stockbrook Street – Abbey Street (and the same in the opposite direction).

TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF THE RIGHT TURN AND LEFT TURN (BUS GATE) ORDER
DUFFIELD ROAD AND TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE ORDER ON CHURCH LANE, DARLEY ABBEY, DERBY

WHEN: 27 October 2026 to 28 October 2026 WHERE: Church Lane, from its junctions with Duffield Road to its junction with South Avenue, Duffield Road, suspend the Right Turn into Church Lane. Duffield Road, suspend the Left Turn Bus gate into Church Lane. REASON: Drainage works ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Church Lane – Abbey Lane – Mile Ash Lane – Duffield Road (and the same in the opposite direction).

TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE ORDER ON
SHARDLOW ROAD AND LONDON ROAD, DERBY

WHEN: 14 October 2026 to 15 October 2026 (20:00 to 05:00) Phase 2 16 October 2026 to 17 October 2026 (20:00 to 05:00) Phase 3 19 November 2026 to 21 November 2026 (20:00 to 05:00) Phase 1 WHERE: Phase 2: Shardlow Road, from its junction with Harvey Road roundabout to its junction with Raynesway roundabout. Phase 3: Shardlow Road, from its junction with Harvey Road roundabout to its junction with Elvaston Lane. Phase 1: London Road, from its junction with Lichfield Drive to its junction with Raynesway and Shardlow Road roundabout. REASON: Resurfacing and associated works. 

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Phase 1 and 2: London Road – Ascot Drive – Osmaston Road – Harvey Road (and the same in the opposite direction). Phase 3: Shardlow Road – A6, Alvaston Bypass – Raynesway – Shardlow Road (and the same in the opposite direction).
