Ewehurst Crescent - Temporary Road Closure due to Gas Main Replacement Works
What is happening?
The County Council of Durham (Ewehurst Crescent, Dipton) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2026
The Council proposes to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from proceeding on the following length of road. A 71 metre length of Ewehurst Crescent, Dipton from the junction with Ewehurst Road at the western side of closure, in an easterly direction to the end of the cul-de-sac to enable gas main replacement works to be undertaken. Throughout the period of the closure, no alternative diversion will be available to vehicular traffic. The maximum duration of the Order is 18 months. The proposed works are required from 8am on Monday 26/10/2026 and for the duration of the works, anticipated to be 3 weeks. On occasions, alternative dates for the closure may be necessary and these will be signed on site accordingly.
