(IMPOSITION OF 30MPH AND 40MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 202
THE LEICESTERSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL hereby gives notice that it proposes to make an Order under Sections 5, 81, 82(2), 83(2), 84 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”), and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act, the effect of which will be:
To revoke the existing 30mph and 40mph speed limits on parts of Leicester Road, Countesthorpe
To impose a 30mph and 40mph speed limits on parts of Leicester Road, Countesthorpe
A copy of the proposed Order, together with a plan illustrating the proposals and an explanatory statement giving the Council’s reasons for proposing to make the Order may be inspected until 30th October 2026, during normal office hours at my offices, Room 200, County Hall, Glenfield, Leicester, LE3 8RA on the Council’s website at https://www.leicestershire.gov.uk/roads-and-travel/cars-and-parking/traffic-managementconsultations, at the offices of Blaby District Council, Council Offices, Desford Road, Narborough, Leicestershire, LE19 2DP and on the notice board at Countesthorpe Parish Council.
All documents relating to the proposal will remain available on request, in compliance with statute by contacting legalpropertyandenvironment@leics.gov.uk
Objections to the proposals, specifying the grounds on which they are made, should be sent in writing to the undersigned by not later than 30th October 2026, quoting reference TL/HTWMT/6267. Alternatively, objections can be emailed to theresa.lock@leics.gov.uk or via the online comment form which may be accessed via the link above.
