Order 2026

NOTICE is hereby given that WSCC has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily close Steepdown Road in Sompting from a point 85m north of Halewick Lane, northwards for 50m. The road closure is needed to allow maintenance works to electricity cables to be carried out in safety.

The Order will come into effect on 12 October 2026 and remain in force until 19 October 2026. Once made, the Order may remain in force for up to 18 months, or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is earlier.

It is intended to close Steepdown Road during the daytime only (0800 to 1800) during the operative periods of this Order. Alternative routes for vehicles will be indicated on site and access to properties on the affected length of road will be maintained at all times.

(Worthing: Seldens Way) (Temporary Closure)
Order 2026

NOTICE is hereby given that not less than 7 days from the date of this notice, WSCC intends to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily close Seldens Way in Worthing throughout its entire length.

The road closure is needed to allow gas mains to be replaced in safety.

The Order will come into effect on 26 October 2026 and remain in force until 7 December 2026. Once made, the Order may remain in force for up to 18 months, or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is earlier.

During the operative periods of this Order alternative routes for vehicles will be indicated on site. Access to properties on the affected length of road will be maintained at all times. (Worthing: Palatine Road) (Temporary Closure)

NOTICE is hereby given that not less than 7 days from the date of this notice, WSCC intends to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily close Palatine Road in Worthing, from Limbrick Lane eastwards for 50m.

The road closure is needed to allow new electricity mains to be installed in safety.

The Order will come into effect on 27 October 2026 and remain in force until 5 November 2026. Once made, the Order may remain in force for up to 18 months, or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is earlier.

During the operative periods of this Order the road will be closed from 0800 to 1700. Alternative routes for vehicles will be indicated on site and access to properties on the affected length of road will be maintained at all times.
