What is happening?
HEREFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (SPEED LIMIT) (CONSOLIDATION) ORDER 2022 (VARIATION) ORDER No.3 2025 (C1019, LEINTHALL STARKES) (30MPH SPEED LIMIT)
Notice is hereby given that the County of Herefordshire District Council, known as Herefordshire Council, in exercise of its enabling powers under Section 84 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and the Traffic Management Act 2004 has made the above-named order, the effect of which will be to vary the Herefordshire Council (Speed Limit) (Consolidation) Order 2022 so that:
A 30mph speed limit be introduced on the following roads:
C1019 - From its current western terminal location (a point 31m east of its junction with the U92201 Novel Lane to its current eastern terminal location (a point 384m east of its junction with the U92202 Marlbrook Lane).
The extent of the existing 40mph speed limit be reduced to align with the new extent of the 30mph speed limit.
This order shall come into operation on 13th October 2026
A copy of the 2022 Order, the Variation Order named above, a consultation plan and Statement of Reasons can be viewed on the Council's website at www.herefordshire.gov.uk in the Introduced Traffic Regulation Order section and at Blueschool House Customer Information Centre, Hereford, HR1 2AN. Requests for copies of the Orders, plan and Statement of Reasons or general enquiries relating to this proposal can be made by calling 01432 260000., by email to trafficengineering@herefordshire.gov.uk or by post to Road Safety & Traffic Engineering Team, Herefordshire Council, Plough Lane, Hereford HR4 0LE. Photocopies of the same may be provided on payment of photocopying charges at the Council.
If any person wishes to question the validity of the Order or of any of its provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the Act, or that any requirement of the Act or of any instrument made under the Act has not been complied with that person may, within six weeks from the date the Order was made, apply for the purpose to the High Court.
