(Temporary Closing And Waiting Restrictions On Various Roads In Letchworth Garden City And Hitchin) - Order No.2 2026
NOTICE is given that HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads ("the Roads") and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:-
1. The A505 Baldock Road/Pixmore Way roundabout, Letchworth Garden City from its junction with A505 Letchworth Gate clockwise for its entire length.
An alternative route will be via: B656 (Baldock Road/Letchworth Road/Hitchin Street), B197 (High Street/London Road), A505 Baldock Bypass, the A1(M), A602 (Wymondley Bypass/Stevenage Road/Park Way) and A505 (Old Park Road/Bedford Road/Fishponds Road/Nightingale Road).

An alternative route will be via: Norton Way South and A505 Baldock Road.

3. That length of A505 Letchworth Gate, Letchworth Garden City from its junction with the B656 Baldock Road/Pixmore Way roundabout south eastwards, south westwards and south eastwards to its junction with the A505 Baldock Road/Pixmore Way roundabout, a distance of approximately 524m.
An alternative route will be via: B656 (Baldock Road/Letchworth Road/Hitchin Street), B197 (High Street/London Road) and A505 (Baldock Bypass/Letchworth Gate).

An alternative route will be via: A505 Letchworth Gate, the A1(M), A602 (Wymondley Bypass/Stevenage Road/Park Way) and A505 (Old Park Road/Bedford Road/Fishponds Road/Nightingale Road).

There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the works.

7. the A505 Cambridge Road roundabout, Hitchin from its junction with B656 Walsworth Road clockwise for its entire length.
An alternative route will be via: A602 Park Way and A505 (Old Park Road/Bedford Road/Fishponds Road/Nightingale Road).
or via: A505 (Nightingale Road/Fishponds Road/Bedford Road/Paynes Park) and A602 Park Way.

8. that length of B656 Baldock Road, Letchworth Garden City from its junction with the A505 roundabout eastwards to its junction with Avenue One roundabout, a distance of approximately 653m.
An alternative route will be via: B656 (Baldock Road/Letchworth Road/Hitchin Street), B197 (High Street/London Road) and A505 (Baldock Bypass/Letchworth Gate).

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

The Order will come into effect on 12 October 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 3 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(Temporary Closing Of Ashbrook Lane, St Ippolyts) Order 2026
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Ashbrook Lane, St Ippolyts from the access road leading to ‘Girons’ south westwards for a distance of approximately 150m ("the Road"), except for access.
An alternative route will be via: Ashbrook Lane, A602 Stevenage Road, Hitchin Lane and Ashbrook Lane.

The Order is needed because the replacement of an existing utility pole is proposed to be executed near the Road.

The Order will come into effect on 13 October 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 1 day to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(Temporary Closing Of Hitchin Road, Gosmore) - Order 2026
NOTICE is given that HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Hitchin Road, Gosmore from the access road leading to ‘Iris Court Care Home’ south eastwards for a distance of approximately 30m ("the Road").
An alternative route will be via: Hitchin Road, Gosmore Road, B656 London Road, B651 Whitwell Road, Hitchwood Lane, School Lane, Hitchin Road, Preston Road, High Street and Hitchin Road.

The Order is needed because electrical works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order will come into effect from 12 October 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 5 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicles from waiting, loading and unloading at any time on both sides of the following lengths of roads ("the Roads"), whilst works are in progress:-
1. That length of Hollow Lane, Hitchin from its junction with Whitehill Road north westwards to its junction with B656 Queens Street, a distance of approximately 355m.

2. That length of Lyles Row, Hitchin from its junction with St Andrews Place north westwards to its entire length.

3. That length of Portmill Lane, Hitchin from its junction with B656 Queen Street north westwards for its entire length.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

The Order will come into effect from 12 October 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 7 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

NOTICE is given that HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads ("the Roads"), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:-
1. that length of Boxbury Lane, Walkern from its junction with B1037 Stevenage Road north westwards for its entire length.
There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the works.

2. that length of St Marys Church Road, Little Wymondley from its junction with Stevenage Road south eastwards and southwards for its entire length.
There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the works.

3. That length of Roxley Court Road, Willian from its junction with Wymondley Road south eastwards for its entire length.
There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the works.

4. That length of A1072 Gunnels Wood Road, Stevenage from its junction with the A1070 Six Hills Way roundabout south eastwards to its junction with the A602 Broadwater Way roundabout, a distance of approximately 1092m.
An alternative route will be via: A1070 Six Hills Way and A602 (Six Hills Way/Monkswood Way/Broadhall Way).

5. That length of A1070 Six Hills Way, Stevenage from its junction with the A602 Lytton Way/B197 London Road roundabout south westwards to its junction with the A1072 Gunnels Wood Road roundabout, a distance of approximately 503m.
An alternative route will be via: A602 Lytton Way, A1155 Fairlands Way and A1072 Gunnels Wood Road.

6. that length of A1072 Gunnels Wood Road, Stevenage from its junction with the Clovelly Way Bridge Road West roundabout north westwards and north eastwards to its junction with the A602 Hitchin Road/A1072 Martins Way roundabout, a distance of approximately 1143m.
An alternative route will be via: A1072 Gunnels Wood Road, A1155 Fairlands Way and A602 (Lytton Way/Hitchin Road) or via A602 (Hitchin Road/Lytton Way/High Street/James Way/Lytton Way), A1155 Fairlands Way and A1072 Gunnels Wood Road.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

The Order will come into effect on 12 October 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 5 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(Temporary Closing Of Baldock Byway Open To All Traffic No.020 (California)) Order 2026
NOTICE is given that HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all traffic from using Baldock Byway Open to All Traffic No.020 (California) from a point in line with the north western boundary of No.5 California south eastwards for a distance of approximately 21m ("the Byway Open to All Traffic").
There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the works.

The Order is needed because water main repair works are proposed to be executed on or near the Byway Open to All Traffic.

The Order will come into effect from 12 October 2026 and will be valid for a period of 6 months. The works are scheduled to take 3 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Byway Open to All Traffic.

(Temporary Closing Of Pixmore Way And The Subway Situated Beneath A505 Letchworth Gate, Letchworth Garden City) Order 2026
NOTICE is given that HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be:-
1. To prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Pixmore Way, Letchworth Garden City from its junction with Lytton Avenue south eastwards to its junction with North Way South roundabout, a distance of approximately 155m ("the Road").
An alternative route will be via: Lytton Avenue, Meadow Way and Norton Way South.

2. To prohibit all subway users from using the subway situated beneath A505 Letchworth Gate, Letchworth Garden City from the footpath situated on the northwest side of No.74 Yardley south westwards for a distance of approximately 98m ("the Subway").
An alternative route will be via: the footway situated to the north east side of Radburn Way, the subway situated beneath A505 Letchworth Gate, the footpath situated on the west side of A505 Letchworth Gate, the footway situated to the north and south sides of Howard Drive and the footpath situated on the south west side of A505 Letchworth Gate.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road and Subway.

The Order will come into effect from 12 October 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 3 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road and Subway.
