PARK ROAD, STEVINGTON 26 – 119

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bedford Borough Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any pedestrian from proceeding along the footpath

Park Road, Stevington from Silver Street to Farley Way.

This temporary footway closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while footway resurfacing is carried out and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.

This temporary footway closure is anticipated to be in operation 09:00 to 15:00 hours from 19th October 2026 to 21st October 2026

Pedestrians affected by the proposed Order should follow the diversion route as appropriate. The proposed Order will come into operation on 19th October 2026 for a period of six months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier. This temporary road closure is required to aid traffic management whilst footway resurfacing is undertaken and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.

The reverse route applies.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bedford Borough Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Church Road, Colmworth outside Hillside.

This temporary road closure is required to replace one existing telegraph pole and rehang associated cabling and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.

This temporary road closure is anticipated to be in operation 08:00 to 17:00 hours from 19th October 2026 to 20th October 2026

(PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF WAITING AND LOADING AND PARKING PLACES) ORDER 2009

(AMENDMENT NO.81) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on 24th September 2026 Bedford Borough Council made the above Traffic Regulation Order, the effect of which is detailed below:Effect of the Order:

1. To reduce the extent of the existing ‘No waiting at any time’ restriction on the following length of road:

A Wadsworth Court, Elstow

(i)   On its north-western kerb, from the projected centre of the roundabout extending in a south easterly direction for 13 metres. The proposed amendment reduces the current restriction from approx. 30 metres to 13 metres.

Date of Operation This Order will come into force on 12th October 2026 or as soon as practicable after this date.

High Court Challenge: Any person who desires to question the validity of this Order or any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within six weeks of the date of this Notice, make application for that purpose to the High Court.

BEDFORD BOROUGH COUNCIL  

PROPOSES TO AMEND THE PARKING ARRANGEMENTS ON FOSTER HILL ROAD OUTSIDE DE PARYS LODGE

Reason for Proposal: The proposed changes are intended to improve parking management and accessibility on Foster Hill Road by providing a short stay parking bay for visitors of the local businesses while maintaining the overall level of disabled parking provision through the relocation and extension of the existing bays. Effect of the Order:

1.  Reduce the length of the existing Disabled Persons’ Parking Place by approximately 6 metres and replace that section with a Limited Waiting Parking Place operating as ‘15 Minutes Only, No Return Within 1 Hour, Monday to Saturday 8am to 6pm’.

A  Foster Hill Road

(i)   On the west kerb starting 8 approx. 8 metres north west of the junction with The Broadway for approx. 6 metres in a north westerly direction.

1.  Extend the existing Disabled Person’s Parking Place by 6 metres at the northeastern end of the parking area, resulting in the loss of one existing Pay-andDisplay parking place.

A   Foster Hill Road

(i)   On the west kerb starting approx. 28 metres north west of the junction with The Broadway for approx. 6 metres in a north westerly direction.
