What is happening?

HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL:

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND WAITING RESTRICTIONS ON VARIOUS ROADS IN BUNTINGFORD, GREAT HORMEAD, TEWIN, WELLPOND GREEN AND LITTLE HADHAM) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:-

1. that length of Chapel End, Buntingford from its junction with B1038 High Street south westwards for its entire length. There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the works.

2. that length of Hall Lane, Great Hormead from its junction with B1038 Conduit Lane north westwards for its entire length. There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the works.

3. that length of Archers Green Lane, Tewin from its junction with B1000 Hertford Road north eastwards, north westwards and north eastwards to its junction with Grass Warren, a distance of approximately 1209m. An alternative route will be via B1000 Hertford Road, Churchfield Road and Archers Green Lane.

4. that length of Tewin Hill, Tewin from its junction with Bramfield Road south westwards to its junction with Upper Green, a distance of approximately 1750m. An alternative route will be via Bramfield Road, Burnham Green Road, Orchard Road and Upper Green.

5. that length of 3U40 (unnamed road), Wellpond Green/Little Hadham from its junction with Bromley Lane south eastwards, north eastwards and south eastwards to its junction with Little Hadham Public Bridleway Byway Open to All Traffic and Footpath No.010, a distance of approximately 794m. An alternative route will be via 3U40 (unnamed road), Bromley Lane, C15 (unnamed road), New Road and 3U40 (unnamed road).

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

The Order will come into effect on 12 October 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months.

The works are scheduled to take 5 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF NETHER STREET, WIDFORD) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Nether Street, Widford from a point in line with the south eastern boundary of ‘The Croft’ south eastwards for a distance of approximately 250m (“the Road”), except for access.

There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the works.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order will come into effect from 12 October 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 6 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND WAITING RESTRICTIONS ON WOODSTOCK ROAD, BROXBOURNE) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Woodstock Road, Broxbourne from its northernmost junction with Park Lane south westwards and south eastwards to its southernmost junction with Park Lane, a distance of approximately 767m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via Park Lane.

ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of Road, whilst works are in progress. 

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order will come into effect from 12 October 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 5 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF BULLSMILL LANE, STAPLEFORD) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Bullsmill Lane, Stapleford from its junction with A119 High Road eastwards for a distance of approximately 334m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via A119 High Road, Vicarage Lane, Sacombe Road and Bullsmill Lane.

The Order is needed because overhead cabling and utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order will come into effect from 12 October 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF GOBIONS LANE, STAPLEFORD) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Gobions Lane, Stapleford from its junction with A119 High Road north westwards and south westwards for a distance of approximately 455m (“the Road”).

An alternative route will be via A119 (High Road/North Road), Bramfield Road, Tattle Hill, Main Road, Winding Shott and Gobions Lane.

The Order is needed because bridge inspection works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order will come into effect from 14 October 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 1 day to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

THE HERTFORDSHIRE (VARIOUS ROADS, STANSTEAD ABBOTTS) (RESTRICTION OF WAITING) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (1984 Act) to introduce new waiting restrictions in parts of Stanstead Abbotts as specified in the Schedule to this Notice. The Order will come into effect on Saturday 31 October 2026.

Documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order may be viewed from 8 October 2026 to 19 November 2026 during office hours at Main Reception, Farnham House, Six Hills Way, Stevenage or online at www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/trafficorders by selecting East Herts and looking at Ref: EH00726.

Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order, or any of its provisions, on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the 1984 Act, or that any requirement of the 1984 Act or any Instrument made under it has not been complied with may, within 6 weeks from the date of this Notice, apply to the High Court for this purpose.

SCHEDULE: No waiting at any time – those sections of road listed below and as set out in the Order and scheme plan – Parts of Lawrence Avenue, Lee Close, Rush Close, Cresset Close, Kingfisher Close, Robin Close, Heron Drive and Swift Close.

The making of Traffic Regulation Orders is a statutory function of the County Council.
