What is happening?
THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(VARIOUS ROADS, ASHFIELD)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING AND WAITING, LOADING AND UNLOADING) ORDER 2026 (A26-207)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order, under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in respect of roads at Hucknall, Sutton in Ashfield and Selston in the district of Ashfield
The effects of the Order will be:
1. Vehicles are prohibited from proceeding in the following length of road
a) Caunts Crescent, Sutton in Ashfield - For its entire length
b) Lindley Street, Selston - For its entire length
c) Park Drive, Hucknall - From its junction with Farleys Lane for a distance of 200 metres in a north easterly direction
2. Vehicles are prohibited from waiting, loading and unloading (both sides) (at all times) in the following length of road
a) Caunts Crescent, Sutton in Ashfield - For its entire length
b) Lindley Street, Selston - For its entire length
c) Park Drive, Hucknall - From its junction with Farleys Lane for a distance of 200 metres in a north easterly direction
3. All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily suspended as required.
4. The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect when the signs are in place.
IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions respecting the above road or roads will apply as follows:
From 09:30, Tuesday 27th October 2026
Until 15:30, Monday 9th November 2026 inclusive.
AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available will be:
a) St Marys Road - The Oval - Brierly Road and vice versa
b) Alfreton Road - Church Lane - Desborough Road and vice versa
c) Farleys Lane - Watnall Road - Storth Avenue and vice versa
The Order will come into force on Tuesday 27th October 2026 and any prohibition in it shall apply on that day and any subsequent day when necessary to enable works to be carried out. The Order shall continue in force until the works are completed (within a maximum period of 18 months).
The prohibition is required to enable Via East Midlands to carry out pothole pro patching works;
