THE M6 MOTORWAY (JUNCTION 6, GRAVELLY HILL INTERCHANGE) (CONNECTING ROADS)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company no. 9346363) has made an Order on the M6 Motorway at Junction 6, in the City of Birmingham, to allow maintenance works to be carried out nearby.
The effect of the Order will be to close -
(a) the link road leading from the southbound carriageway of the M6 at Junction 6 to the southbound carriageway of the A38(M) Aston Expressway;
(b) the link road leading from the northbound carriageway of the M6 to the southbound carriageway of the A38(M) Aston Expressway;
(c) the link road leading from the southbound carriageway of the A5127 to the southbound carriageway of the A38(M) Aston Expressway;
(d) the link road leading from the A38 Tyburn Road to the southbound carriageway of the A38(M) Aston Expressway;
(e) the link road leading from the northbound carriageway of the A38(M) Aston Expressway to the southbound carriageway of the M6; and
(f) the link road leading from the northbound carriageway of the A38(M) Aston Expressway to the northbound carriageway of the M6.
The work will be carried out overnight between 21:00 hours and 05:00 hours and is expected to start on Sunday 18 October 2026 and continue for 5 nights.
The Order will come into force on 12 October 2026.
Vehicles being used for police, fire and rescue authority or ambulance purposes, and vehicles being used in connection with the work or by a traffic officer will be exempt from the closures.
Diversion routes via Salford Circus, the A5127, Dartmouth Circus, Park Circus, Waterlinks Boulevard, A5127 and Lichfield Road will be signed.
