OXFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

(VARIOUS ROADS - VALE OF WHITE HORSE DISTRICT) (MAP BASED) (PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF WAITING AND PERMITTED PARKING) (VARIATION NO.3) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that on 05th October 2026 Oxfordshire County Council made the above order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers. The Order - which comes into effect on 12th October to help deter all day parking by commuters or visitors to the Westminster Way area of Botley - introduces new 'No Waiting at Any Time' (double yellow lines) parking restrictions as follows:

1. Arthray Road:

  • North side - extend the existing restrictions west of Westminster Way by an additional 30 metres,
  • West side - for approx. 10 metres either side of its junction with Hutchcomb Road.

2. Conifer Close (both sides) - for approx. 14 metres eastwards from its junction with Hurst Rise Road,

3. Cope Close:

  • Both sides - for approx. 17 metres southwards from its junction with Montagu Road,
  • around the inner kerb of the turning circle at the end of the cul-de-sac.

4. Cumnor Hill/West Way - for approx. 25 metres either side of its junction with Hurst Rise Road,

5. Finmore Road (both sides) - for approx. 10 metres around its junctions with St Paul's Crescent,

6. Hurst Rise Road:

  • Both sides - for approx. 15 metres southwards from its junction with Cumnor Hill/West Way,
  • East side - for approx. 10 metres either side of its junctions with Conifer Close & Springfield Road.

7. Hutchcomb Road:

  • Both sides - for approx. 10 metres south-westwards from its junction with Arthray Road/Montagu Road,
  • East side - for approx. 15 metres either side of its junction with Springfield Road,

8. Montagu Road (South side):

  • for approx. 10 metres either side of its junction with Cope Close,
  • for approx. 10 metres either side of its junction with The Garth.

9. Springfield Road (Both sides) - for approx. 15 metres eastwards from its junction with Hurst Rise Road,

10. St Paul's Crescent:

  • All sides - for approx. 10 metres around its junctions with Finmore Road,
  • around the inner kerbs either side of Finmore Road,

11. The Garth:

  • Both sides - for approx. 12 metres southwards from its junction with Montagu Road,
  • around the inner kerb of the turning circle at the end of the cul-de-sac.

12. Westminster Way:

  • East side - for approx. 145 metres between its junctions with Arthray Road & Montagu Road, and approx. 125 metres between its junctions with Montagu Road & Yarnells Hill,
  • West side - for approx. 10 metres either side of its junction with

Yarnells Hill.

Existing lengths of 'No Waiting at Any Time' (Double yellow lines) within the area will remain as currently marked on the ground. A minor amendment is also made within the wording of the base order to clarify the list of named Parishes included within the order with no effect on parking matters.

The Oxfordshire County Council (Various Roads - Vale of White Horse District) (Map Based) (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting and Permitted Parking) Order 2026 is further amended, updating Map Tiles: EV60, EW59, EW60,

EW61 & EX60 in the process.

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

Oxfordshire County Council intends to make a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. This Order follows the Temporary Traffic Regulation Notice previously issued under Section 14(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (Reference 351). The restriction remains necessary to allow the works to continue and this Order continues the temporary restriction under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Nature of Restriction: Road Closure Location: Bernwood Road, Oxford, Oxfordshire Description of Works: Micro asphalt carriageway being carried out by Oxford Direct Services TTRO reference: 351 Duration: Starting on 19/10/2026 07:00 The anticipated completion date is 23/10/2026 17:30 (Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders have a maximum duration of 18 months, or 6 months for footpaths, bridleways, cycle tracks and byways that are open to all traffic).

Access: Access will be maintained for emergency service vehicles and for properties within the closed section of road where reasonably practicable. Suggested Alternative Route: Barton Village Road, Fettiplace Road, Alden Crescent, Burchester Avenue and vice versa.

Notice is hereby given that Oxfordshire County Council, in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, has made a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order on 28/10/2026, as detailed below:

Nature of Restriction: Road Closure Location: King Street, Oxford, Oxfordshire (outside 24A King Street to the

rear of the Guy Court). Description of Works: Essential electric LV overlay and transfer of services to new main on behalf of SSEN being carried out by Network Plus. TTRO reference: 797 Duration: Starting on 12/10/2026 The anticipated completion date is 13/11/2026 (inclusive) (Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders have a maximum duration of 18 months for roads, or 6 months for other public rights of way). Access: Access will be maintained for emergency service vehicles and for properties within the closed section of road where reasonably practicable. Suggested Alternative Route: Diversion via Jericho Street, Hart Street, Great Clarendon Street, Walton Street, Cardigan Street and vice versa.

Notice is hereby given that Oxfordshire County Council, in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, has made a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order on 05/10/2026, as detailed below: Nature of Restriction: Footpath Closure Location: Footpath Between Ferry Hinksey Road And Swan Street, Oxford, Oxfordshire Description of Works: Continuation of the emergency footpath closure due to instability of footbridge - risk to public. Works being carried out by M Group Transport. TTRO reference: 945 Duration: Starting on 23/09/2026 The anticipated completion date is 17/03/2028 (inclusive) (Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders have a duration 6 months for other public rights of way).

Access: Access will be maintained for emergency service vehicles and for properties within the closed section of road where reasonably practicable. Suggested Alternative Route: Diversion via Swan Street, West Street, Bridge Street, Botley Road, Ferry Hinksey Road and vice versa.
