THE A69 TRUNK ROAD (WEST DENTON TO DENTON BURN)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited intends to make an Order on the A69 Trunk Road, in the City of Newcastle Upon Tyne, to enable loop cut works to be carried out in safety.
The works are expected to start on Thursday 5 November 2026 for 1 night or until completed.
The effect of the Order will be, between 8pm and 6am, at times during the works, to close the A69 eastbound:
i) carriageway from the exit slip road at West Denton to Denton Burn Interchange roundabout, a distance of 1500 metres; and
ii) entry slip road at West Denton.
During the closures suitably signed alternative routes will be available at all times.
Traffic signs will indicate the extent of the prohibitions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or vehicles being used in connection with the said works or for winter maintenance). The Order comes into force on 4 November 2026 and has a maximum duration of eighteen months.
