Chilton Foliat - Temporary Road Closure due to Carriageway Retexturing Works
What is happening?
SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make an Order to close temporarily to all traffic: B4001 (Part), Chilton Foliat; from its junction with B4192 to its junction with Old Hayward Bottom to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out carriageway retexturing. Alternative route via B4001 (unaffected length) – B4000 – A338 – B4192 and vice versa.
The closure and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. This Order will come into operation on 05 November 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:00 until 11 November 2026. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works. The Order will have a maximum duration of 18 months.
