NOTICE OF MAKING OF PUBLIC PATH ORDER
TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990, SECTION 257 & PARAGRAPH 1 OF SCHEDULE 14
BICESTER FOOTPATH NO.6 (PART), BICESTER FOOTPATH NO.6A (PART) AND BICESTER FOOTPATH NO.10 (PART) DIVERSION ORDER 2026
Cherwell District Council gives notice that it has made an Order on 15 September 2026 under section 257 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 because it is satisfied that it is necessary to divert the footpaths to which the Order relates to enable the development to be carried out in accordance with the planning permission granted under part III of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 (planning permission ref: 22/03513/F and 25/00119/F).
The effect of the Order will be to divert the following sections of footpaths as shown on the Order map:-
Bicester FP6 running from OS Grid Ref SP 57975, 22036 east-south-eastwards for 43m to SP 58014, 22018 then continuing from SP 58056, 22032 heading north-north-eastwards for 200m to SP 58150, 22207 on to a new line running from SP 57975, 22036 south-eastwards for 40m to SP 58013, 22027 then southwards for 7m to SP 58014, 22018 then continuing from SP 58056, 22032 heading north-north-westwards for 18m to SP 58053, 22050 then north-eastwards for 31m to SP 58075, 22073 then northwards for 36m to SP 58077, 22108 then north-north-eastwards for 28m to SP 58091, 22133 then east-north-eastwards for 34m to SP 58118, 22152 then north-eastwards for 55m to SP 58127, 22205;
Bicester FP6a running from OS Grid Ref SP 58120, 22147 east-south-eastwards for 11m to SP 58129, 22142 on to a new line running from SP 58118, 22152 east-south-eastwards for 14m to SP 58129, 22142;
Bicester FP10 running from OS Grid Ref SP 58150, 22207 west-north-westwards for 73m to SP 58082, 22233 then westwards for 18m to SP 58065, 22234 then west-north-westwards for 26m to SP 58041, 22240 then continuing from SP 57992, 22259 heading west-north-westwards for 24m to SP 57970, 22267 then west-south-westwards for 34m to SP 57937, 22258 on to a new line running from SP 57935, 22255 south-eastwards for 14m to SP 57946, 22245 then eastwards for 17m to SP 57963, 22244 then north-eastwards for 16m to SP 57973, 22257 then east-north-eastwards for 20m to SP 57992, 22259 then continuing from SP 58041, 22240 heading east-south-eastwards for 28m to SP 58066, 22230 then eastwards for 14m to SP 58080, 22230 then east-south-eastwards for 36m to SP 58119, 22216 then south-south-eastwards for 12m to SP 58127, 22205 then continuing from SP 58080, 22230 heading north-north-eastwards for 6m to SP 58082, 22233.
A copy of the Order, map and explanatory statement may be seen free of charge during opening hours at Cherwell District Council, 39 Castle Quay, Banbury, Oxon, OX16 5FD. A copy can also be obtained on request from prow@cherwell-dc.gov.uk.
Any representation about or objection to the Order may be sent in writing to the AD Law and Governance, Legal Services, Cherwell District Council, 39 Castle Quay, Banbury, Oxon, OX16 5FD (ref: JH/KD/12094) or prow@cherwell-dc.gov.uk no later than 5 November 2026. Please clearly state the grounds on which it is made. Objections may be made on the grounds that the tests set out in the Act have not been satisfied. If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are subsequently withdrawn, Cherwell District Council may itself confirm the Order as an unopposed Order. If the Order is sent to the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for confirmation, any representations or objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent with the Order.
