What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(PLANTATION ROAD, LEIGHTON BUZZARD)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Plantation Road, Leighton Buzzard between Saxons Slade and Greenhill.

This temporary closure is required to enable existing carriageway patching work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 2 to 4 November 2026 between the hours 0900-1530 The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route will be via Heath Rd, Linslade Rd, Plantation Rd and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 2 November 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(LIME GROVE, LINSLADE)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Lime Grove, Linslade.

This temporary closure is required to enable gully installation work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 2 to 4 November 2026 between the hours 0800-1800 The road will be closed at all times during this period.

There is no alternative route for this closure.

The Order will come into operation on 2 November 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of East Street, Leighton Buzzard outside number 6.

This temporary closure is required to enable dig and investigation work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 4 to 6 November 2026 between the hours 0900-1530 The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route will be via Garden Hedge, Saint Andrews Street, East St and vice versa. The Order will come into operation on 4 November for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(LEIGHTON ROAD, HOCKLIFFE)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Leighton Road, Hockliffe opposite Dairy Court.

This temporary closure is required to enable vegetation clearance, ditch clearance, gully installation and gully cleaning works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 5 to 9 November 2026 between the hours 0900-1530 The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route will be via A5, A505, A4146, A4012 and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 5 November for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(SHENLEY HILL ROAD, LEIGHTON BUZZARD

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Shenley Hill Road, Leighton Buzzard between numbers 2 to 30.

This temporary closure is required to enable carriageway patching work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 19 to 21 October 2026 between the hours 0800 and 1800 The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure will be via Miletree Rd, Eastern Way, Leighton Rd and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 19 October 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

PROPOSES TO INTRODUCE A DISABLED PARKING BAY ON MEADOW WAY,  LEIGHTON BUZZARD

Reason for proposal: The disabled parking space would provide a dedicated place for blue badge holders to park.

Effect of the Order:

To introduce Parking for Disabled badge holders only on the following length of road in Leighton Buzzard: -

1. Mea dow Way, west side, from a point approximately 1.5 metres north of the common property boundary between No.38 and No.40 Meadow Way and extending in a northerly direction covering an area of approximately 6.6 metres and 2 metres in width.
