Various Roads in Edinburgh - Traffic, Waiting, Loading & Unloading Restrictions

THE CITY OF EDINBURGH COUNCIL

(TRAFFIC REGULATION; RESTRICTIONS ON WAITING, LOADING AND UNLOADING, STOPPING AND PARKING PLACES) AND (BUS LANES: 7-7-7 TRIAL) (NO. 1) EXPERIMENTAL TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2026 – ETRO/26/16

The Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, to introduce by way of an experiment:

(1). Amend existing 24hr waiting restrictions to 24hr waiting restrictions with 24hr loading prohibitions on London Rd (including Leopold Pl & Brunton Pl), Hillside Cres, Brunton Ter & Duddingston Rd West;

(2). Replace waiting restrictions, which operate Mon to Fri 8.30am to 5.30pm, with 24hr waiting restrictions and 24hr loading prohibitions on London Rd (including Leopold Pl), Blenheim Pl & Easter Rd;

(3) Amend a waiting restriction, which operates Mon to Fri 8.30am to 5.30pm, to operating Mon to Sun 7.00am to 7.00pm and introduce a loading prohibition which operates Mon to Fri 7.00am to 10.00am & 4.00pm to 7.00pm on London Rd (including Leopold Pl & Brunton Pl);

(4) Introduce loading prohibitions which operate Mon to Fri 7.00am to 10.00am & 4.00pm to 7.00pm at existing 24hr waiting restrictions on London Rd, Willowbrae Rd (including Northfield Ter) & Milton Rd West;

(5) Replace a waiting restriction which operates Mon to Fri 8.30am to 5.30pm, with a 24hr waiting restriction and a loading prohibition which operates Mon to Fri 7.00am to 10.00am & 4.00pm to 7pm on London Rd;

(6) Replace a waiting restriction, which operates Mon to Fri 8.00am to 6.00pm & Sat 8.00am to 1.30pm, and a loading prohibition, which operates Mon to Fri 8.00am to 9.15am & 4.30pm to 6.00pm, with a 24hr waiting restriction with 24hr loading prohibition on Easter Rd;

(7) Amend a waiting restriction and loading prohibition, which operate Mon to Fri 8.30am to 5.30pm, to a waiting restriction which operates Mon to Sun 7.00am to 7.00pm and a loading prohibition which operates Mon to Fri 7.00am to 10.00am & 4.00pm to 7.00pm and Sat to Sun 11.00am to 2.00pm on London Rd (old access road to Meadowbank Sport Centre), London Rd (including Cadzow Pl, Earlston Pl, East Norton Pl, Hillend Pl, Jock’s Lodge, Meadowbank Pl, Parson’s Green Ter & Wolseley Ter);

(8) Replace a 24hr waiting restriction with a waiting restriction which operates Mon to Sun 7.00am to 7.00pm and a loading prohibition which operates Mon to Fri 7.00am to 10.00am & 4.00pm to 7.00pm and Sat to Sun 11.00am to 2.00pm on London Rd (including East Norton Pl);

(9) Amend an existing 24hr waiting restriction to a 24hr waiting restriction with a loading prohibition which operates Mon to Fri 7.00am to 10.00am & 4.00pm to 7.00pm and Sat to Sun 11.00am to 2.00pm on London Rd (including Wolseley Pl & Wolseley Ter);

(10) Replace waiting restrictions and loading prohibitions, which operate Mon to Fri 8.30am to 5.30pm with 24hr waiting restrictions and 24hr loading prohibitions on London Rd, & Marionville Rd;

(11) Replace a waiting restriction and a loading prohibition, which operate Mon to Fri 8.30am to 5.30pm, with a 24hr waiting restriction and a loading prohibition which operates Mon to Fri 7.00am to 10.00am & 4.00pm to 7.00pm and Sat to Sun 11.00am to 2.00pm on London Rd;

(12) Remove a section of 24hr waiting restriction and 24hr loading prohibition on London Rd;

(13) Introduce 24hr waiting restrictions with 24hr loading prohibitions on London Rd (new access road to Meadowbank Sport Centre), Willowbrae Rd, Duddingston Rd West, Duddingston Rd & Milton Rd West;

(14) Amend a waiting restriction, which operates Mon to Fri 7.30am to 6.30pm and Sat 8.00am to 1.30pm, and a loading prohibition which operates Mon to Fri 7.30am to 9.30am & 4.00pm to 6.30pm, to a waiting restriction which operates, Mon to Sun 7.00am to 7.00pm, and a loading prohibition which operates Mon to Fri 7.00am to 10.00am & 4.00pm to 7.00pm and Sat to Sun 11.00am to 2.00pm on Willowbrae Rd;

(15) Amend waiting restrictions and loading prohibitions, which operate Mon to Fri 7.30am to 9.30am & 4.00pm to 6.30pm, to waiting restrictions which operate, Mon to Sun 7.00am to 7.00pm, and loading prohibitions which operate Mon to Fri 7.00am to 10.00am & 4.00pm to 7.00pm on Willowbrae Rd, Abercorn Ave, Abercorn Cres, Ulster Dr, Ulster Cres, Northfield Cres (south leg), Northfield Bdwy, Duddingston Mills, Milton Rd West, Milton Rd (including Duddingston Cres & Duddingston Mains Cottages) & Milton Rd East;

(16) Introduce waiting restrictions, which operate Mon to Sun 7.00am to 7.00pm, and loading prohibitions which operate Mon to Fri 7.00am to 10.00am & 4.00pm to 7.00pm on Willowbrae Rd, Milton Rd West & Duddingston Rise;

(17) Amend loading prohibitions, which operate Mon to Fri 7.30am to 9.30am & 4.00pm to 6.30pm, to operate Mon to Fri 7.00am to 10.00am & 4.00pm to 7.00pm on Willowbrae Rd (including Northfield Ter), Northfield Cres (north leg), Northfield Circus, Milton Rd West, Duddingston Ave, Southfield Ter & Duddingston Gdns Sth;

(18) Amend loading prohibitions, which operate Mon to Fri 7.30am to 9.30am & 4.00pm to 6.30pm, to operate 24hrs on Duddingston Rd, Milton Rd West, Duddingston Gdns Sth & Southfield Ln;

(19) Replace a waiting restriction and daytime loading prohibition, which operates Mon to Fri 7.30am to 9.30am & 4.00pm to 6.30pm, with a 24hr waiting restriction and 24hr loading prohibition on Milton Rd West;

(20) Amend a waiting restriction, which operates Mon to Fri 7.30am to 9.30am & 4.00pm to 6.30pm, to Mon to Sun 7.00am to 7.00pm and introduce a daytime loading prohibition which operates Mon to Fri 7.00am to 10.00am & 4.00pm to 7.00pm on Milton Rd;

(21) Introduce a 24hr waiting restriction and a loading prohibition which operates Mon to Fri 7.00am to 10.00am & 4.00pm to 7.00pm on Milton Rd West;

(22) Amend bus lane operational times, which operate Mon to Fri 7.30am to 9.30am & 4.00pm to 6.30pm, to Mon to Sun 7.00am to 7.00pm on London Rd, Willowbrae Rd, Milton Rd West, Milton Rd and Milton Rd East.

Documents can also be viewed at Calton Hub, Waverley Court, 4 East Market St, Edinburgh, EH8 8BG between 9:30am & 3:30pm Mon-Fri during the same period. The Order will come into effect on 12/10/26. The Council will consider in due course whether the provisions of the Order should be continued in force indefinitely. Any person may object to the making of the Order for the purpose of such indefinite continuation. Objectors must complete the form found via the “Proposals in consultation” link referred to above, or state their reasons in writing quoting reference eTro/26/16 to Traffic Orders at the above address, not later than 11/04/27. Objections should state the name and address of the objector. If you are responding to this consultation and your comments or objection relate to any particular location/s or element/s of the proposals, it would be helpful if you could identify those in your response. Should this order be varied by another experimental order or otherwise modified, there will be a further period of six months during which objections will be invited, beginning with the day on which the variation or modification or the latest variation or modification came into force.
