What is happening?

PARKING PLACES) (MAP-BASED) ORDER 2019

(NEWMARKET) (HIGH STREET) (A1304)

(GOODS VEHICLES LOADING ONLY) (VARIATION No. 14) ORDER 202-

Suffolk County Council proposes to make the above order under Sections 1(1) and (2), 2(1) to (3), 4(2) and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which would substitute revision 3 of Map Tile ED22, in place of revision 2 of the same Map Tile, into the above-named 2019 Order. The effect of this would be to introduce:

A loading bay for goods vehicles operating at all times on the north side of High Street (A1304), Newmarket outside nos. 74 - 80 a distance of 15 metres (measured along the inside length of the layby).

All other vehicles are prohibited from waiting along the same portion of High Street.

Exemptions to the waiting restrictions allow for building, industrial or demolition works; for emergency services; for the maintenance of the road or its services; and for fulfilling statutory duties.

Copies of the draft order, map showing the roads affected and the Council’s reasons for the proposals, may be seen with advance notice at the address below, 9am - 5pm Monday - Friday; and also at Newmarket Library, 1a The Guineas, Newmarket CB8 8EQ from: Monday: Closed, Tuesday: 8.30am - 6pm, Wednesday: 9am - 5pm, Thursday: 8.30am - 5pm, Friday: 8.30am - 6.30pm, Saturday: 9am - 5pm and Sunday: 10am - 4pm.

Objections and any other representations relating to these proposals, specifying the grounds on which they are made, must reach Holly Allen, Suffolk County Council Legal Services at the address below or at: holly.allen@suffolk.gov.uk no later than 28/10/2026.
