The East Sussex (C270 Five Chimneys Lane, Hadlow Down)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Five Chimneys Lane – from the junction with C11 School Lane to the junction with A272 Curtains Hill.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A272 Curtains Hill – C11 School Lane and vice versa.
The Order commences 5 October 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 5 and 6 October 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026 No.2
To allow Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Rookery Lane – from the junction with U7278 Colliers Green to the junction with B2096 Earls Down.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via B2096 Earls Down, Carricks Hill, Battle Road, Woods Corner – C18 South Lane – C277 Bluekiln Road, Redpale, North Road – C16 White Horse Road, Bodle Street Road, Back Lane and vice versa.
The Order commences 5 October 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 5 and 6 October 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1) (b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which continues temporarily to close the following length of road:
Temporary Road Closure
Sandhill Lane – from the junction with C16 White Horse Road to the junction with U7923 Churches Green Lane.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U7410 Sandhill Lane – C16 White Horse Road – U7923 Churches Green Lane and vice versa.
The Order commences 5 October 2026 and is made following the issuing of a Temporary Notice dated 24 August 2026 and a Temporary Successive Notice dated 14 September 2026 under the relevant sections of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended. The Order lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated the closure will be in place between 7 October and 5 November 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (B2109 Avis Road, Newhaven) (One Way) Order 202*
NOTICE is hereby given that East Sussex County Council propose to make an Order under Sections 1, 2 and 4 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, and of all other enabling powers.
The effect of the Order would be to formalise the existing one-way traffic arrangement on the northern slip road at the northern end of B2109 Avis Road, Newhaven, where the slip road connects with the A26. The proposal is intended to maintain road safety and facilitate the safe passage of all road users
