Notice is hereby given that Essex County Council in exercise of its powers under Section 16 (A-C) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended), has made the above Order to facilitate the Chelmsford Marathon and Half Marathon.

Road Closures for 11 October 2026
The closures are required for the public safety while the Chelmsford Marathon/Half Marathon takes place.
Access for emergency vehicles and pedestrians will be maintained at all times during the closure.

(Chatham Green, Little Waltham) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Chatham Green, Little Waltham in the City of Chelmsford, from a point approximately 165m north west of its junction with Strawbrook Hill for a distance of approximately 65m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 3rd November 2026 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC411001WH4P448Y – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network.
The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole erection works are undertaken by Openreach.
An alternative route is available via Chatham Green, Whitbreads Farm Lane, A131, Chatham Green and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 15th October 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Chatham Hall Lane, Little Waltham/Great Waltham) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Chatham Hall Lane, Little Waltham/Great Waltham in the City of Chelmsford, from the junction with Braintree Road for a distance of approximately 1255m in a north westerly, north easterly then north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 2nd November 2026 for 4 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC311003WH3FFN2R & BC311005WH3FFN2R – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. (Fountain Road, Good Easter) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Fountain Road, Good Easter in the City of Chelmsford, from its junction with Chelmsford Road for a distance of approximately 30m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 4th November 2026 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC411001WH2VJP6W – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Hulls Lane, Sandon in the City of Chelmsford, from a point approximately 275m north east of its junction with Woodhill Road for a distance of approximately 135m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 2nd November 2026 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC311001WH1V6F7X – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of North Hill, Little Baddow in the City of Chelmsford, from a point approximately 20m south east of its junction with Spring Close for a distance of approximately 30m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 19th October 2026 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EN014M205087 – Essex and Suffolk Water).
The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while boundary box replacement works are undertaken by Essex and Suffolk Water.

(Birch Lane, Stock) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Birch Lane, Stock in the City of Chelmsford, from its junction with Falkner Close for a distance of approximately 85m in a south westerly direction and from a point approximately 40m north east of its junction with Falkner Close for a distance of approximately 70m in a north easterly direction. Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close that length of Southend Arterial Road, Benfleet/Arterial Road, Rayleigh in the Borough of Castle Point and District of Rochford, from its junction with Rayleigh Weir Slip Road A127 – A129 to its junction with Rayleigh Weir Slip Road, A129 – A127 a distance of approximately 720m (Eastbound).
2. To temporarily close that length of Southend Arterial Road, Benfleet/Arterial Road, Rayleigh in the Borough of Castle Point and District of Rochford, from its junction with Rayleigh Weir Slip Road A129 – A127 to its junction with Rayleigh Weir Slip Road, A129-A127 a distance of approximately 940m (Westbound).
The closures are scheduled to commence on 19th October 2026 for 5 nights (21:00-05:00), or where stated on a valid permit (EP20104768120 – Essex County Council). (Southend Road, Great Baddow) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Southend Road, Great Baddow in the City of Chelmsford, from its junction with Essex Yeomanry Way for a distance of approximately 30m in a south easterly then north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 19th October 2026 for 19 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30029537603 – UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.
An alternative route is available via A1114, Southend Road, A1114, Church Street, Southend Road.

(Various Roads, City of Chelmsford) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) (No.13) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close that length of road in the City of Chelmsford as specified in the schedule to this Order.
2. A temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction will be introduced on both sides of the carriageway as per schedule for the duration of the closure to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting restriction will be in force.
“The Essex County Council (City of Chelmsford) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019” will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above length of road only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.
The works being undertaken will take place within an 18-month period from 1st October 2026 exact dates will be specified on one.network. The road will be closed to facilitate each phase of works and then re-opened to the public.
Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter / leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the road.

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close those lengths of roads in the City of Chelmsford as specified in the schedule to this Order.
2. A temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction will be introduced on both sides of carriageway on those lengths of roads specified in the schedule. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping restriction will be in force.
“The Essex County Council (Chelmsford City) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019” will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above lengths of roads only.
