(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company No. 9346363) intends to make an order on the A49
Trunk Road, between Craven Arms and Wistanstow, in the County of Shropshire, to allow Cadent Gas to carry out works to install a new gas connection.
The effect of the Order will be to close the A49 from its junction with the B4368 Corvedale Road at Craven Arms, to its junction with the A489, near Wistanstow.
Works are expected to be carried out between 06:00 on Sunday 18 October 2026 and 06:00 on Monday 19 October 2026. The Order will come into force on 16 October 2026.
Vehicles being used for police, fire and rescue authority or ambulance purposes, and vehicles being used in connection with the works will be exempt from the closure. Access to premises will be maintained.
Diversion routes via the A5, the A458 and the B4368 will be signed. Local diversions will also be available.
