Warwickshire County Council has made the following Temporary Traffic Orders:

PUBLIC FOOTPATH F0050 (K/A BACK OF THE WALL FOOTPATH) BEDWORTH

Order Effect: Footpath closed to all traffic.

Reason for Order: To enable clearance of overhanging trees and vegetation and associated works, 08.00hrs - 16.00hrs.

Order Commences: 13 October 2026 for up to 6 months.

Anticipated Completion: 14 October 2026.

Access & Diversion: Saunders Avenue, Park Road, Black Bank, Rectory Drive and vice versa.

NORMAN AVENUE, NUNEATON

Order Effect: Road closed to vehicular traffic.

Reason for Order: Works to renew pole, closed 09.00hrs - 15.30hrs.

Order Commences: 14 October 2026 for up to 18 months.

Anticipated Completion: 14 October 2026.

Access & Diversion: Access will be maintained at all times with short delays.

Order Effect: Road closed to vehicular traffic between its junctions with Brading Road/Kingsbridge Road and Shanklin Drive.

Reason for Order: Carriageway patching and associated works, 09.30hrs - 15.30hrs.

Order Commences: 12 October 2026 for up to 18 months.

Anticipated Completion: 12 October 2026.

Access & Diversion: Kingsbridge Road, Shanklin Drive and vice versa.

D280 HILLSIDE, HARTSHILL

Order Effect: Road Closed to vehicular traffic between the junctions with Moor Road and Elm Way.

Reason for Order: Carriageway resurfacing and associated works, 08.00hrs - 17.00hrs weekdays only.

Order Commences: 26 October 2026 for up to 18 months.

Anticipated Completion: 28 October 2026.

Access & Diversion: Moor Road, Moorwood Crescent, Hillside and vice versa. Access/egress to/from Spring Hill will be via diversion only whilst works are in progress.

BROOKDALE ROAD, NUNEATON

Order Effect: Road closed to vehicular traffic.

Reason for Order: To enable carriageway remedial works.

Order Commences: 30 October 2026 for up to 18 months

Access & Diversion: Shanklin Drive, Weddington Road, Old Hinckley Road, Leicester Road, Hinckley Road, Higham Lane, Brookdale Road and vice versa.

BURTON LANE, BURTON HASTINGS

Order Effect: Road closed to vehicular traffic.

Reason for Order: Telegraph pole replacement works.

Order Commences: 27 October 2026 for up to 18 months.

Anticipated Completion: 27 October 2026.

Access & Diversion: Lutterworth Road, Hinckley Road, Burton Lane and vice versa.

COLESHILL ROAD, ANSLEY COMMON

Order Effect: Road closed to vehicular traffic.

Reason for Order: To enable new water mains works.

Access & Diversion: Coleshill Road, Birmingham Road, Ansley Road, Arbury Road, Croft Road, Queens Road, Jubilee Way, Corporation Street, Central Avenue, Abbey Green, Midland Road, Tuttle Hill, Camp Hill Road, Ansley Common and vice versa.

PARK VIEW CLOSE, BEDWORTH

Order Effect: Road closed to vehicular traffic.

Reason for Order: Telegraph pole renewal works.

Order Commences: 26 October 2026 for up to 18 months.

Access & Diversion: No diversion available.

THE WOODLANDS, HARTSHILL

Order Effect: Road closed to vehicular traffic.

Reason for Order: New gas connection works.

Order Commences: 27 October 2026 for up to 18 months.

Anticipated Completion: 30 October 2026.

Access & Diversion: No available diversion route.

For all of the above temporary orders, pedestrian access to and egress from properties and land situated adjacent to the length of road to be closed will be maintained at all times. Vehicular access will be maintained where possible.

NOTICE OF MAKING OF A COMPULSORY PURCHASE ORDER
THE WARWICKSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (LAND AT REGENT STREET, BOND STREET, BACK STREET AND LEICESTER ROAD, NUNEATON) COMPULSORY PURCHASE ORDER 2026

The Highways Act 1980 and the Acquisition of Land Act 1981

1. Notice is hereby given that Warwickshire County Council has made The Warwickshire County Council (Land at Regent Street, Bond Street, Back Street and Leicester Road, Compulsory Purchase Order 2026 under sections 239 240 246 and 250 of the Highways Act 1980.

2. Warwickshire County Council has submitted this order to the Secretary of State for Transport for confirmation, and if confirmed, the order will authorize Warwickshire County Council to purchase compulsorily the land and the new rights described in Schedule 1 hereto for the purpose of:

a. The improvement of Wheat Street/A444 including provision of a fourth arm to an existing three arm, signalised junction to unlock proposed development sites along Wheat Street and to provide improvements to cyclist/pedestrian facilities; and

b. The improvement of Leicester Rd/Back St/Bond St/Regent St/ A444 including removing the existing one-way gyratory system and replace it with a four-arm roundabout. Approximately 420 metres of one-way system will be removed. Proposed toucan crossings on Leicester Road, Vicarage Street and A444 approach, along with the realignment of Regent Street will provide greatly improved pedestrian/cyclists facilities.

c. The construction of new highway in pursuance of the Warwickshire County Council (Regent Street, Bond Street Back Street and Leicester Road, Nuneaton) (Junction improvements and other works) Side Roads Order 2026.

d. The provision of new means of access to premises in pursuance of the Warwickshire County Council (Regent Street, Bond Street and Leicester Road, Nuneaton) (Junction improvements and other works) Side Roads Order 2026.

e. Mitigating the adverse effect which the existence or use of the highways proposed to be constructed or improved will have on the surroundings thereof.

3. A copy of the order as made and of the map referred to therein have been deposited at Nuneaton Library and Information Centre, Church Street, Nuneaton, CV11 4DR and are available for inspection between the times shown below:

All County Council managed libraries are closed on bank holidays and when these fall on a Monday, the library is also closed on the preceding Sunday.

4. Any objection to the order must be made in writing to the Department for Transport, Transport Infrastructure Planning Casework Unit, PO Box 1393, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE99 5FQ or by email to NATIONALCASEWORK@dft.gov.uk before 29th October 2026 and should state the title of the order, the grounds of objection and the objector’s address and interests in the land.

5. In submitting an objection, it should be noted that your personal data and correspondence will be passed by the Secretary of State for Transport to the Council to enable your objection to be considered. Where the Order becomes the subject of Public Inquiry Procedures, all correspondence is copied to the Inspector conducting the Inquiry and will be kept in the PI library, where it is publicly available. If you do not wish your personal data to be forwarded, please state your reasons when submitting your objection and the Secretary of State will copy your representations, with your name and address removed, to the Council and if there is to be a Public Local Inquiry they will be seen by the Inspector who may give them less weight as a result.
