Christchurch - Proposed Stopping Up of Highway Verge to Enable Development

The Secretary of State hereby gives notice of the proposal to make an Order under section 247 of the above Act to authorise the stopping up of an irregular shaped northern part width of Crofton Close comprising its highway verge at Christchurch in the county of Dorset.
If the order is made, the stopping up will be authorised only in order to enable development as permitted by The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government under appeal reference APP/V1260/W/23/3327019.
Copies of the draft order and relevant plan will be available for inspection during normal opening hours at Christchurch Library, 29-31 High Street, Christchurch, Dorset, BH23 1AW in the 28 days commencing on 7 October 2026, and may be obtained, free of charge, from the Secretary of State (quoting SUO9782975) at the address stated below.
Any person may object to the making of the proposed order by stating their reasons in writing to the Secretary of State at nationalcasework@dft.gov.uk or Transport Infrastructure Planning Casework Unit, PO Box 1393, Newcastle Upon Tyne, NE99 5FQ, quoting the above reference. Objections should be received by midnight on 4 November 2026. You are advised that your personal data and correspondence will be passed to the applicant/agent to enable your objection to be considered. If you do not wish your personal data to be forwarded, please state your reasons when submitting your objection.
