What is happening?

THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH
TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
SAND LANE, WILBERFOSS

East Riding of Yorkshire Council has made an Order
the effect of which is to prohibit any person from
causing any vehicle to proceed/from proceeding along
Sand Lane, Wilberfoss from its junction with the A1079
ending at its junction with Newbridge Lane, Yapham
commencing 26 October 2026 until 5 November
2026. The reason for the closure is to enable the
proposed works for Sand Lane, Wilberfoss to allow
for bend strengthening and patching works to be
carried out and completed in a manner consistent with
ensuring the safety of the public. It is anticipated that
the works will be completed within 11 days.
The alternative route for traffic affected by the Order
is via Newbridge Lane, Yapham, Bolton Lane, Wilberfoss
and A1079 Hull Road, Newton Upon Derwent CP,
Wilberfoss CP, Fangfoss CP, Pocklington Provincial
Ward, Wolds Weighton Ward. The road will be closed
to all through traffic but access will be maintained for
residents, emergency vehicles and pedestrians.
The Order will commence 26 October 2026 and
continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen
months or until the works which it is proposed to
carry out have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
