What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
SECTION 14 (1) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION
OF THROUGH TRAFFIC
ADDLEKELD, WARTER

Notice is hereby given that East Riding of Yorkshire
Council intends not less than seven days from the date
of this notice to make an Order, the effect of which
will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along
Addlekeld, Warter between its junction with Lairs Lane
ending at both junctions with the B1246 at the War
Memorial fork point commencing 2 November 2026
until 4 December 2026 to undertake planned highway
and footway maintenance works including carriageway
inlay, footway reconstruction and drainage works.
The road closure is necessary to enable the works to
be carried out in a manner consistent with ensuring the
safety of the public. The Order is valid for 18 months,
but it is anticipated that the works will be completed
within 33 days. The alternative route for traffic affected
by the road closure will be via Main Street and
Lairs Lane, Warter CP, Wolds Weighton Ward.
The diversion route will be signed at the time of
closure. The road will be closed to all through
traffic but access will be maintained for residents,
emergency vehicles and pedestrians.
