What is happening?

THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL OF STOCKPORT 
(ADSWOOD ROAD, CLOVER AVENUE AND WEMBLEY CLOSE, ADSWOOD) (PROHIBITION OF WAITING) NOTICE 2026 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan Borough Council of Stockport proposes to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the Road Traffic Act 1991 and the Traffic Management Act 2004 the effect of which will be to introduce No Waiting at Any Time at Adswood Road, Adswood (North West Side) from a point 25 metres south west of the south western kerb line of Clover Avenue to a point 4 metres north east of the north easterly kerb line of Clover Avenue. 

Adswood Road, Adswood (West Side / North West Side) from a point 8.5 metres north of the northerly kerb line of Wembley Close to a point 37.5 metres north east of the north easterly kerb line of Clover Avenue. Clover Avenue, Adswood (North East Side) from the intersection of the north western kerb line of Adswood Road for a distance of 50 metres in a north westerly direction. 

Clover Avenue, Adswood (South West side) from the intersection of the north western kerb line of Adswood Road for a distance of 20 metres in a north westerly direction. 

Wembley Close (Both Sides) from the intersection of the western kerb line of Adswood Road, for a distance of 12 metres in south westerly direction. Full details of these proposals are set out in the draft Order which, together with the map, may be obtained from Stockport Legal Services, Town Hall Stockport SK1 3XE.

Any person wishing to object to this proposed Order should write, specifying their grounds for objection, to the undersigned (or by email to traffic@stockport.gov.uk) on or before 28 October 2026 quoting reference JO/19702166.
