ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14(1)

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC, PARKING, STOPPING, WAITING, LOADING AND UNLOADING

(TTO26-27-52) ORDER 2026

(VARIOUS ROADS IN LEIGH-ON-SEA)

Notice is hereby given that Southend-on-Sea City Council has proposed to make the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any vehicle from parking, stopping, waiting, loading, unloading in the locations listed in the below Table.

The temporary restrictions shall also suspend the operation of any existing parking places within the affected lengths of the roads in the Table.

The restrictions are scheduled to operate between 8am and 5pm on the dates specified in the table below, commencing on 12 October 2026 and ending on 5 November 2026, or when appropriate signs are displayed and weather permitting.

No diversion routes are required as the Order relates solely to temporary parking restrictions.

The Order will come into effect on 12 October 2026 and may remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months; however, the restrictions will only be implemented on the dates and during the times of 8am until 5pm specified in the table below.

The prohibitions are required for the safety of the public and workforce for Gully Cleansing.

Vehicular access will be maintained where it is safe and practicable to do so.

The prohibitions or restrictions will apply only during such time and to such extent as indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the TRAFFIC SIGNS REGULATIONS AND GENERAL DIRECTIONS 2016.

Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction/prohibition imposed by this Notice may be issued with a Penalty Charge Notice and removed under the provisions of the Traffic Management Act 2004.
