What is happening?

THE LEICESTERSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Leicestershire County Council intends not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice to make the following Orders under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Act 1984. The works will be completed within the period of the Orders and will commence when the appropriate signs are erected. The Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders are being enforced for public safety.

STATION LANE, KIRBY BELLARS

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL THROUGH TRAFFIC ORDER 2026

It is expected that the Order will come into force on 08/11/2026 and have a maximum duration of 3 months. The works may last for up to 2 days to allow Network Rail to undertake annual level crossing safety checks. The proposed diversion routes will be via. Station Ln, Main Rd, Leicester Rd Kirby Bellars; Leicester Rd A607, Wilton Rd A607, Asfordby Rd, Melton Mowbray; A6006, Main Rd, Main St, Asfordby & vice versa.

TEMPORARY IMPLEMENTATION OF 30MPH SPEED RESTRICTION ORDER 2026

It is expected that the Order will come into force on 02/11/2026 and have a maximum duration of 3 months. The works may last for up to 3 months to allow Leicestershire County Council to undertake carriageway surface repairs. The diversion routes will be signed on site. No speed limit imposed by this Order applies to vehicles falling within regulation 3(4) of the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011 when used in accordance with regulation 3(5) of those Regulations.

Nottingham Rd between the St Bartholomew’s Wy & Asfordby Road Jcts; Dieppe Wy at the Jct with Nottingham Rd for approx. 20m; Brampton Rd at the Jct with Nottingham Rd for approx. 20m – Melton Mowbray.

It is expected that the Order will come into force on 02/11/2026 and have a maximum duration of 3 months. The works may last for up to 5 days to allow Leicestershire County Council to undertake drainage maintenance work.

It is expected that the Order will come into force on 29/10/2026 and have a maximum duration of 3 months. The works may last for up to 3 days to allow BT Openreach to undertake cable duct installation work.

TRACK FROM PLUNGAR LANE TO COUNTY BOUNDARY, BARKESTONE

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL THROUGH TRAFFIC

INCLUDING PEDESTRIANS, EQUESTRIANS & NON-MOTORISED TRAFFIC ORDER 2026

The Order will come into force on 05/10/2026 and have a maximum duration of 6 months. The works may last for up to 3 months to allow Leicestershire County Council to undertake repairs to a damaged bridge. The proposed diversion route will be via: Track from Plungar Ln to the County Boundary, Plungar Ln Barkestone; Barkestone Ln, Granby Ln Plungar; Plungar Rd, Flawborough Ln, Granby, & vice versa.

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL THROUGH TRAFFIC

INCLUDING PEDESTRIANS, EQUESTRIANS & NON-MOTORISED VEHICLES

Track From Plungar Ln To County Boundary, Barkestone for approx. 25m from the centre of the bridge on both sides.

G LEBE ROAD, STAPLEFORD

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL THROUGH TRAFFIC ORDER 2026

The Order will come into force on 05/10/2026 and have a maximum duration of 3 months. The works may last for up to 40 days to allow Leicestershire County Council to undertake road bridge strengthening work. The proposed diversion routes will be via: Glebe Rd, Holygate Rd, Stapleford Rd, Saxby Rd B676, Wymondham Rd, Melton Rd, Glebe Rd & vice versa.

Glebe Rd, Stapleford from the Jct of the Rd named From Glebe Rd to Station Rd Wymondham due East up to the railway level crossing.

TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF ONE-WAY TRAFFIC ORDER 2026

The Order will come into force on 05/10/2026 and have a maximum duration of 6 months. The works may last for up to 6 months to allow Leicestershire County Council to undertake carriageway resurfacing works. The diversion routes will be signed on site.

Norman Wy, Park Rd – for their entire lengths; Scalford Rd between the Norman Wy & Elgin Dr Jcts; Nottingham St between the Norman Wy & Park Rd Jcts; Snow Hill between the Norman Wy & Stanley St Jcts; Saxby Rd between the Thorpe End & Brook St Jcts; Thorpe End between the Norman Wy & Goodriche St Jcts; Thorpe Road between the Norman Wy & Charles Dyer Jcts – Melton Mowbray.
