Notice is hereby given that Cornwall Council intends to make the above Order in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the RTRA 1984 to temporarily prohibit the use by traffic of the undermentioned lengths of road in Bude.
This prohibition is necessary for road maintenance and gully emptying and it is expected that the closure will be from 2nd November 2026 to 6th
November 2026.
The prohibition will be in force between the hours of 1900 and 0600, weekdays only.

Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (RTRA 1984)
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that Cornwall Council has made the above Order dated 7th October 2026 in exercise of its powers under section 14(1) of the RTRA 1984 to prohibit the use by traffic over an area of highway being Road From Woolley To Gooseham, Bude between properties known as Smugglers Cottage and Hackmarch.
The Council is satisfied that the Order is needed because works are being executed on or near the road to carry out works to repair a collapsed culvert.
The Order will come into operation on 8th October 2026 and the works are expected to be completed by the 17th September 2027.
The prohibition will be in force 24 hours a day, weekends included.
The road was previously closed for reasons of public safety by notice under Section 14(2) of the RTRA 1984 from the 17th September 2026 for a period of 21 days.
Nothing in this Order will apply to traffic associated with the works required within the highway specified above, any vehicle being used for the purposes of an undertaker in an emergency, such as loss of utility supplies and
anything done with the permission of or at the discretion of a police officer.
Pedestrian access to residents and businesses will be maintained.
