THE NORFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL

(NORWICH, HALL ROAD) ROAD HUMPS NOTICE 2026

As required under Section 90C of the Highways Act 1980 and the Highways (Road Humps) Regulations 1999 notice is hereby given that Norfolk County Council propose to install road humps under Section 90(A) of the Highways Act 1980 at the following location:

Road Description
C820 Hall Road From a point 16 metres north of the centre line of its junction with U42801 Abbott Road southwards for a distance of 3.7 metres.

The road humps (being a maximum of 75mm in height, 5.5 metres in width, and 3.7 metres in length) are designed to provide a safer environment for pedestrians and those who cycle.

This proposal was previously advertised on the 3 July 2026. However, it is being readvertised as the proposed location of the above-mentioned road hump has been changed. Specifically, it was previously proposed to be located 3 metres south of the centre line of its junction with U42801 Abbott Road southwards for a distance of 3.7 metres but has now been amended to be located 16 metres north of the centre line of its junction with U42801 Abbott Road southwards for a distance of 3.7 metres. The location of the remaining, previously advertised, road humps remain unchanged.

The reason for this change in location is to ensure compliance with design requirements and maintain the effectiveness of the traffic calming measures.

A copy of the plan viewed online at www.norfolk.citizenspace.com. Copies are also available for inspection at Norfolk County Council, County Hall, Norwich, NR1 2DH and at the offices of Norwich City Council, City Hall, St Peters Street, Norwich, NR2 1NH during normal office hours.
