What is happening?

LICENSING ACT 2003: APPLICATION TO VARY PREMISES LICENCE

Notice is hereby given that Punch Taverns Limited has applied to Durham County Council in respect of Golden Lion 1 East End Sedgefield Stockton-On-Tees TS21 3AU for an application to vary the premises licence under the Licensing Act 2003 to permit the following: This is an application to vary the layout and design of the premises in accordance with the submitted plan (drawing no 26102- 502). 

The changes are part of a full refurbishment project and include alterations to the bar servery layout, removal of the kitchen to create and an enhanced trading area, new fixed seating positions and new fixed joinery. 

To also update conditions relating to allowing children on the premises. A full list of these amendments can be viewed on the full application held by the Licensing Authority. 

The operating times, licensable activities and conditions authorised by the existing Premises Licence to remain unchanged. A record of this application may be inspected at the Council's offices at Annand House, John Street North, Meadowfield, Durham. DH7 8RS by appointment on weekdays between 9.30 am and 4.00 pm. 

Any representations about this application must be made in writing by the end of 27th October 2026 and sent to: Durham County Council, Licensing Services, PO Box 274, Stanley, Durham, DH8 1HG, alternatively email: licensing@durham.gov.uk  

It is an offence to knowingly or recklessly make a false statement in connection with this application. 

Persons will be liable on summary conviction to an unlimited fine.
