What is happening?

City of Stoke-on-Trent (Traffic Regulation)
(Whieldon Road) (No.10) Order, 2026 and Highways Act 1980 - Section 90 Proposed Traffic Calming - Whieldon Road, Stoke.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Stoke-on- Trent Council in exercise of its powers under Section 90 of the Highways Act 1980 and all other enabling powers, proposes to introduce traffic calming measures in Whieldon Road, Stoke. The type, location and approximate sizes of these traffic calming features are as below:-

1. Set of 3 Speed Cushions (65mm x 1650mm x 3000mm)
Grove Rd, 8m South-East of Beech Gr

2. Set of 2 Speed Cushions (75mm x 1650mm x 3000mm)
Whieldon Rd, 52m South-East of Ridley St.

3. Set of 2 Speed Cushions (75mm x 1900mm x 3000mm)
Whieldon Rd, 60m North-West of Walton Cr
Whieldon Rd, 3m South-East of Ramsey St
Whieldon Rd, 15m South-East of Ainsworth St

4. Raised Table Junction (125mm x 21000mm x 23000mm)
Whieldon Rd at its junction with Ridley St and Smithpool Rd

5. Raised Table Junction (125mm x 26000mm x 23000mm)
Whieldon Rd at its junction with Willowdale Av

6. Removal of Road Hump (75mm x 6000mm x 8000mm)
Smithpool Rd, 13m North-East of Whieldon Rd

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Stoke-on-Trent in accordance with Sections 1, 2, 4, and 122 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) propose to;
1. To introduce double yellow lines on
Grove Rd (W Side) from Ainsworth St for 64m south-easterly Whieldon Rd (E Side) (i) from Smithpool Rd for 15m south-easterly 
(ii) from Willowdale Av to Smithpool Rd Whieldon Rd (SW Side) from Minshall St for 3m southerly Whieldon Rd (W Side) 
(i) from its junction with Ridley Street for a distance 75 metres in a southeasterly direction 
(ii) from its junction with Ridley Street for a distance of 20 metres in a northerly direction Willowdale Avenue (SW Side) from its junction with Whieldon Crescent including the truncated end to a point in line with the driveway boundary of No. 13

2. To revoke the provisions in so far as they are affected by the restrictions imposed by this Order.
