What is happening?
THE BOROUGH OF BLACKBURN WITH DARWEN
(LONG HEY LANE, HODDLESDEN) (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2026
NOTICE is hereby given that the Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council, intend to make the above Order under Section 14 (1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
The effect of the Order is to close Long Hey Lane for the following extent: From the junction with Queen Street to the junction with Broadhead Road.
The closure is necessary for the following reason: Carriageway resurfacing.
The Order will come into force on 12th October 2026 and shall continue in force for a period of eighteen months or until the works are completed, whichever is the earlier. However, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 26th October 2026.
The alternative route for the affected traffic will be Queen Street, Hoddlesden Road, Roman Road, Issa Way, Blackamoor Road, Haslingden Road, A6077 From Guide Roundabout To M65, From M65 To B6232, Elton Road, Jackson Heights Road and vice versa.
Access for emergency vehicles and pedestrians will be maintained at all times.
