Notice is given that the Council of the City of Peterborough has made an Order pursuant to section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984:
The City of Peterborough Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic Order 2026 – Silver Hill Ref: 27-222
The effect of which is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along the road known as Silver Hill, as lies between Braymere Road and Lakeview Way. The Council is satisfied that traffic should be prohibited due to proposed works being executed on the above road. The alternative route for vehicles affected by this order is: Silver Hill, Hargate Way, The Serpentine, Fletton Parkway roundabout 3, The Serpentine, A15, Hampton Avenue and vice versa. The proposed order will come into force on the 05/10/2026 and will continue until the resurfacing works have been completed or until the 04/10/2027, whichever is the earlier. Closure dates will be confirmed locally on site. It is anticipated that the works will take place between the 05/10/2026 and the 07/10/2026. The effect of which is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along the road known as Greenacres, near 63 Greenacres for approximately 10m. The Council is satisfied that traffic should be prohibited due to proposed works being executed on the above road. There is no alternative route for vehicles affected by this order, access will be maintained. The proposed order will come into force on the 08/10/2026 and will continue until the ducting installation works have been completed or until the 07/10/2027, whichever is the earlier. The effect of which is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along the road known as Old North Road, Wansford, as lies between A47 and Black Swan Spinney. The Council is satisfied that traffic should be prohibited due to proposed works being executed on the above road. The alternative route for vehicles affected by this order is: A47, Old Leicester Road, Wansford Road and Old North Road. The proposed order will come into force on 02/10/2026 and will continue until the A1 southbound closure works have been completed or until 01/04/2028, whichever is the earlier. Closure dates will be confirmed locally on site. It is anticipated that the works will take place on weekends only (Friday 20:00 to Monday 06:00) between 02/10/2026 and 12/10/2026. The City of Peterborough Temporary 40mph Speed Restriction Order 2026 – Heath Road, Helpston Ref: 27-219
The effect of which is to impose a 40 mph speed limit on the road known as Heath Road, Helpston as lies between Stamford Road and a point 1.5km north. The proposed Order will come into operation on 13 October 2026 and will continue until the site access improvement works have been completed or until the 12 October 2027, whichever is the earlier. The Council is satisfied that pedestrians and cyclists should be prohibited due to works being proposed to be executed on the above PROW. The alternative route for pedestrians and cyclists affected by this order is: none available. The proposed Order will come into operation on 12/10/2026 and will continue until the SPA pipeline excavation works have been completed or until the 11/04/2027, whichever is the earlier. The effect of which is to stop any pedestrian or cyclist from proceeding along the road known as Serjeant Way, Werrington, as lies between the rear of 26 Redbridge and rear of 31 Livermore Green. Access will be maintained to properties affected by this Notice. The Council is satisfied that pedestrians and cyclists should be prohibited due to proposed works being executed on the above road. The alternative route for pedestrians and cyclists affected by this order is: Foxcovert Road, Hodgson Avenue, Serjeant Way to Foxcovert Walk Footpath and vice versa
This notice is made in the interest of tree removal works and will remain effective for no more than 5 days from 05/10/2026.
