NOTICE is hereby given that Rotherham Borough Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any pedestrian from proceeding along that part of Malton Drive Footpath 1 from its junction with Malton Drive to its junction with Worksop Road Footpath 1.
NOTICE is further given that the alternative route for pedestrians will be via the footways adjacent to Malton Drive, The Chase, Worksop Road and Worksop Road Footpath 1.
The reason for the prohibition is because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the footpath (Emergency repairs to electrical apparatus).

NOTICE OF PUBLIC PATH ORDER
HIGHWAYS ACT 1980 SECTION 119
THE ROTHERHAM BOROUGH COUNCIL
PUBLIC FOOTPATH NO.12 AND 13 (PART) PARISH OF WHISTON ROTHERHAM
DIVERSION ORDER 2026
The above Order, made on 30th. September 2026 under section 119 of the Highways Act 1980, will divert the whole width of the public footpath running from a point at Grid Reference SK 4454 8929 and proceeding in a south westerly direction for a distance of approximately 66 metres to a point at Grid Reference SK 4450 8925, then continuing in a south westerly direction for approximately 220 metres to a point at Grid Reference SK 4433 8910.
The Order will also divert the whole width of the public footpath running from a point at Grid Reference SK 4458 8927 and proceeding in a west south westerly direction for approximately 90 metres to a point at SK 4450 8925 to a line commencing from Grid Reference SK 4458 8927 and proceeding in a generally south westerly direction for approximately 330 metres to Grid Reference SK 4433 8908. The width of the new path shall be 2 metres
Copies of the proposed Order and map showing the length and side of the roads affected and a statement of the Council’s reasons for proposing to make the Order may be inspected during normal office hours at the Council’s Offices at the address shown below.
Objections to the proposed Order and other representations relating to it can be sent to the undersigned (quoting reference NF/85784, e-mail Legal-TRO@rotherham.gov.uk) at the address shown below and must be received by the undersigned no later than the 13th. November 2026. All objections and other representations must be made in writing and all objections must specify the grounds on which they are made.
If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, the Council may confirm the order as an unopposed order. If the order is sent to the Secretary of State for the Environment for confirmation, any representations and objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent with the order.
