What is happening?
SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make Orders to close temporarily to all traffic:
A) C214 (Part), South Wraxall; from its junction with B3109 for a distance of approximately 100m in a north westerly direction.
B) UC 836301 (Part), South Wraxall; from its junction with B3109 for a distance of approximately 100m in a south easterly direction to enable Openreach to carry out cabling and associated works. Alternative route A via C214 (unaffected length) – UC 836403 – B3109 and vice versa. Alternative route B via UC 836301 (unaffected length) – C231 – C169 – B3109 and vice versa. Order will come into operation on 26 October 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 for 3 days. C) Kingsley Place (Part), Trowbridge; from its property known as No.06 Kingsley Place to its property known as No.14 Kingsley Place to enable Openreach to carry out ducting and associated works. No alternative route is available. This Order will come into operation on 26 October 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 for 3 days. D) Glebe Way (Part), Corsham; from its property known as No.40 Glebe Way for a distance of approximately 25m in a north easterly direction to enable Openreach to carry out ducting works and other associated works. E) Stallard Street Northbound Carriageway (Part), Trowbridge; from its junction with Gloucester Road to its junction with A363 to enable Wessex Water to carry out new connection and associated works. Alternative route via Newtown – Frome Road – Bradley Road – County Way – Longfield Road West – Bythesea Road – Stallard Street (unaffected length). F) Ramscliff, West Lavington; from its junction with Stibb Hill for its entire length to enable Openreach to carry out excavation to lay ducting. No alternative route is available. G) Church Road (Part), Cheverell Magna; from its junction with High Street to its property known as No.04 Church Road to enable Wessex Water Services to carry out repair service and associated works. No alternative route is available. This Order will come into operation on 26 October 2026 and the closure will be required for 2 days. G) The Dene (Part), Warminster; from its property known as No.44 The Dene to its property known as No.46 The Dene to enable Openreach to carry out pole and associated works. No alternative route is available. This Order will come into operation on 07 October 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 for 1 day. This Order will come into operation on 05 October 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 for 4 days. A3098 (Part), Chapmanslade; from its junction with Dead Mans Lane for a distance of approximately 300m in an easterly direction to enable Openreach to carry out ducting and associated works. The speed restrictions will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. This speed limit restrictions will come into operation on 26 October 2026 and will be required between the hours of 21:00 and 06:00 until 28 October 2026. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. The Order will have a maximum duration of 18 months. C) Footpath 54, Trowbridge; from its junction with Victoria Road to its junction with Footpath 5, Hilperton to enable the construction of the development as approved under planning application reference 20/09701/FUL.
Alternative route Bridleway 33, Hilperton to its junction with Albert Road, in a north westerly direction, head to its junction with Osbourne Road, in a south westerly direction, head to its junction with Victoria Road, in a north westerly direction head for approximately 60m to its junction with Footpath 54, Trowbridge and vice versa. The closures and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. This Order which was due to expire on 06 October 2026 will now continue in force until 06 April 2028 or until completion of the works, whichever is earliest. Notice is hereby given that Wiltshire Council made the above mentioned Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and the Traffic Management Act 2004 to amend The County of Wiltshire (Western Wiltshire) (Off Street Parking Places) Order 2026 by introducing Trowbridge Leisure Centre Car Park to the Order, operating Monday to Sunday, 9am - 6pm, 3 hours No return within 3 hours. A copy of the Order can be obtained via email request to TrafficOrders@wiltshire.gov.uk. Any person aggrieved by the Order and desiring to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained in the Order on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the relevant Section of the above Act or on the grounds that any requirement of that Section or of Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act or any regulation made under the said Schedule, has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within six weeks of the date on which the Order was made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
The Order will come into operation on 5 October 2026.
