    5. The alternative routes for:—

    (a) vehicles affected by the road closure would be via Claremont Avenue, West Barnes Lane and Crossway or vice versa;

    (b) pedestrians affected by the road closure would be via the adjacent footbridge.

    6. Nothing in the Order would apply:—

    (a) to any person carrying out the works or any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works; or

    (b) to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a police community support officer in uniform; or

    (c) to any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes, subject to site conditions; or

    (d) so as to prevent pedestrian or vehicular access to premises in or adjacent to the length of road specified in sub-paragraph 2(a) above.

    7. The Order would come into operation at 12.30am on 23 October 2026 and remain in force until 5am the same day.

    ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)

    LONDON BOROUGH OF MERTON (SOUTH PARK ROAD, SW19)

    (TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

    1. The Council of the London Borough of Merton hereby give notice that to facilitate lead pipe replacement works in South Park Road, they intend to make an Order, the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict vehicular traffic in the said road.

    2. During the works, no person would cause or permit any vehicle to:—

    (a) enter or proceed in South Park Road,

    (b) wait, including for the purposes of loading or unloading, in the road or length of road specified in sub-paragraph (a) above.

    NB: the works would be carried out in 5 phases as specified in the Schedule to this notice.

    3. The restrictions and suspension would only apply during such times and to such extent as would from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

    4. Vehicular traffic affected by the road closure should proceed as specified in column 3 of the Schedule to this notice.

    5. Nothing in the Order would apply to:—

    (a) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works; or

    (b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a police community support officer in uniform; or

    (c) any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes; or

    (d) any person requiring vehicular access to properties adjacent to the prohibited road or lengths of road insofar as access is reasonably practicable without interference with the said works.

    6. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

    7. The Order would come into force on Monday 12th October 2026 and the Order would remain in force for 12 months or until the works are completed, whichever is the earlier.

    5.

    SOUTH PARK ROAD, SW19; from its westernmost extremity to its junction with King’s Road.

    This length of South Park Road is a cul-de-sac and a diversion route is not applicable.

    ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)

    (COMMONSIDE EAST, CR4)

    (TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

    1. The Council of the London Borough of Merton hereby give notice that to facilitate telecommunication mast works in Commonside East, CR4, they have made an Order, the effect of which will be to temporarily restrict vehicular traffic in the said road.

    2. During the works no person will cause or permit any vehicle to:—

    (a) enter or proceed in Commonside East, the main arm, from its junction with Manor Road north-westward for a distance of 130 metres; or

    (b) wait, including for the purpose of loading or unloading a vehicle, in the length of Commonside East specified in sub-paragraph (a) above.

    3. The restrictions will only apply during such times and to such extent as will from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

    4. Nothing in the Order will apply to:—

    (a) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works; or

    (b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a police community support officer in uniform; or

    (c) any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes, subject to site conditions.

    5. Vehicular traffic affected by the road closure should proceed using Windmill Road, Croydon Road and Commonside West.

    6. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

    7. The Order will come into force on Monday 5th October 2026 and it is expected that the works will be carried out that day between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm. However, the Order will remain in force for a period of 3 months should further works be required.

    GREATER LONDON COUNCIL (GENERAL POWERS)

    ACT 1974

    EXEMPTION TO FOOTWAY PARKING PROHIBITION

    NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Merton under Section 15(4) of the Greater London Council (General Powers) Act 1974 have resolved that vehicles parked with one or more of its wheels resting on the footway, and wholly within the areas delineated by white lines along the roads or lengths of road identified in the Schedule to this Notice, shall be exempt from Section 15(1) of the said Act which makes it an offence to park on the footway.

    The resolution shall take effect from 2 November 2026.

    1. BEECH GROVE, MITCHAM; the south-east side, from a point 14 metres north-east of the south-westernmost property boundary of No. 501 Commonside East, north-eastward for a distance of 6 metres.

    2. BERKSHIRE WAY, MITCHAM; the south-west side, from a point 5.5 metres south-east of the common boundary of Nos. 5 and 7 Berkshire Way, south-eastward for a distance of 5 metres.
