TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Borough Council of Gateshead proposes to make an Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along:
a) Centrelink - Autumn Drive to Pipewellgate from its junction with Autumn Drive to its junction with Pipewellgate, and
b) Pipewellgate - from its junction with Centrelink - Autumn Drive to Pipewellgate to its junction with Pipewellgate Car Park.
The Order is required to facilitate maintenance works to a rail bridge. The Order will come into force at 09:45 on 19 October 2026.
The maximum duration of the Order will be 18 months; however, the works are expected to be completed by 17:00 on 31 March 2028.
During the works all vehicles (except vehicles associated with the works and emergency service vehicles on duty) will be prohibited from proceeding along the above roads when traffic management signs are in place. During the works there will be a signed diversion in place.
