What is happening?

THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

(FOOTPATH MAIN ROAD TO HOGG LANE, WATER LANE & HOGG LANE, RADCLIFFE ON TRENT)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITIONS) ORDER 2026 (R26-249)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order, under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in respect of roads at Radcliffe on Trent in the Borough of Rushcliffe

The effects of the Order will be:
1. No person shall proceed in the following length of road.
a. Footpath Main Road to Hogg Lane, Radcliffe on Trent - Whole length of footpath

2. Vehicles are prohibited from proceeding in the following length of road:
a. Water Lane, Radcliffe on Trent - From its junction with Main Road to its junction with Hogg Lane. 

b. Hogg Lane, Radcliffe on Trent - From its junction with Water Lane to its junction with Orchard Close.

3. All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily suspended as required.

4. The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect when the signs are in place.

IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions respecting the above road or roads will apply as follows: 
From Monday 19th October 2026
Until Friday 18th December 2026 inclusive.

AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available will be:
Footpath Main Road to Hogg Lane, Radcliffe on Trent
a. Main Road - Water Lane - Mount Pleasant - Vice Versa

Road Closures - a & b
Water Lane - Vancouver Avenue - St Lawrence Boulevard - Main Road - Vice Versa

The Order will come into force on 19th October 2026 and any prohibition in it shall apply on that day and any subsequent day when necessary to enable works to be carried out. The Order shall continue in force until the works are completed (within a maximum period of 18 months).

The prohibition is required to enable Severn Trent Water to carry out mains replacement works.
