ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT, 1984, SECTION 14

AS AMENDED AND THE ROAD TRAFFIC

(TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS) ACT 1991

LOWER ADDISCOMBE ROAD AND WYDENHURST ROAD,

CROYDON

TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC & PARKING

  1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate service cable installation works on behalf of UKPN, they intend to make an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict traffic and parking in Lower Addiscombe Road and Wydenhurst Road, Croydon.

  2. Whilst the said works are taking place:

    a) Wydenhurst Road will be closed at its junction with Lower Addiscombe Road.

    b) The cycle lane on the southeastern (even-numbered) side of Lower Addiscombe Road outside Nos. 322 to 328 Lower Addiscombe Road will be closed.

    c) Parking will be suspended and waiting and loading restrictions will apply “at any time” on the southeastern (even-numbered) side of Lower Addiscombe Road from the common boundary of Nos. 338 and 340 Lower Addiscombe Road to its junction with Kingscote Road.

    d) Parking will be suspended and waiting and loading restrictions will apply “at any time” on the northwestern (odd-numbered) side of Lower Addiscombe Road from the common boundary of Nos. 375 and 377 Lower Addiscombe Road to its junction with Wydenhurst Road.

  3. Whilst the closure of Wydenhurst Road is in force, the alternative routes for traffic will be as detailed below. Cyclists affected by the cycle lane closure will be diverted into the main carriageway.

    • Via Lower Addiscombe Road, Pagehurst Road, Tenterden Road, and Wydenhurst Road.

    • Via Lower Addiscombe Road, Blackhorse Lane, and Sissinghurst Road.

  4. The Order will come into operation on 19 October 2026, and it is anticipated that the works will be completed on 23 October 2026. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required.

    1. These restrictions shall not apply in respect of:

      (a) a vehicle involved in carrying out the said works,

      (b) a vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies or gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.

      (c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

    TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC

    1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate the cutting back of vegetation at railway bridge SCU1/500, they intend to make an Order the effect of

      which would be to temporarily restrict traffic on Lower Barn Road, Purley.

      1. Whilst the said works are taking place Lower Barn Road will be closed from the common boundary of Nos. 130 and 132 Lower Barn Road to the south-eastern boundary of Riddleah Court, No. 120 Lower Barn Road.

      2. During the closure the alternative route for traffic will be as detailed below.

        • Via Lower Barn Road, Coombe Wood Hill, Mitchley Avenue, Lower Barn Road and reversed.

      3. The Order will come into operation on 21 October 2026, and it is anticipated that the works will be completed in one day. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required.

      4. The restriction shall not apply in respect of:

        (a) a vehicle involved in carrying out the said works.

        (b) a vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.

        (c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

      SHERWOOD ROAD, CROYDON - TEMPORARY

      RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC & PARKING

      1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate gas main replacement works by SGN, they intend to make an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict traffic and parking in Sherwood Road.

      2. Whilst the said works are taking place:

        a) Sherwood Road will be closed between its junctions with Bingham Road and Lower Addiscombe Road.

        b) Parking will be suspended and “at any time” waiting and loading restrictions will be applied in sections along the full length of the road as works progress.

        c) One-way working in Sherwood Road will be suspended to allow two-way traffic.

      3. During the closure, the alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via Sherwood Road, Bingham Road, Shirley Road, Lower Addiscombe Road and reversed.

      4. The Order will come into operation on 19 October 2026, and it is anticipated that the works will be completed on 09 November 2026. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required.

      5. These restrictions shall not apply in respect of:

        (a) a vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.

        (b) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

        (c) any vehicle involved in carrying out the specified works.

        ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984, SECTION 16A

        AS AMENDED BY THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION

        (SPECIAL EVENTS) ACT 1994

        TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC & LOADING

        HARVEST FESTIVAL EVENTS - HIGH STREET,

        KATHARINE STREET & SCARBROOK ROAD,

        CROYDON

        1. Croydon Council, HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate Harvest Festival Events, they have made an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily restrict traffic and the use of loading and special permit bays in the above roads.

        2. During the events:

          a) Katharine Street will be closed to vehicular traffic between its junctions with High Street, Croydon, and Fell Road.

          b) High Street, Croydon will be closed to vehicular traffic between its junctions with Katharine Street and Scarbrook Road, and Park Street and Katharine Street, where the cycle lane will be closed.

          c) One-way working in Scarbrook Road will be suspended between its junctions with Wandle Road and High Street, Croydon, and two-way traffic will apply.

          d) The loading bay outside Nos. 39 to 47 High Street, Croydon, and the special permit holders bay outside Croydon Town Hall, Katharine Street, will be suspended.

        3. The provisions of the Order will not prevent access being maintained for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to any road to which this Order relates, or to any other premises accessible from, and only from, such a road.

        4. The Order will come into effect on 02 October 2026 and continue in force for three days.

        5. Whilst the closure is in force the alternative route for traffic will be via Fell Road, The Croydon Flyover A232, Park Lane Roundabout A232, The Croydon Flyover A232, and Edridge Road. Whilst Scarbrook Road is two-way the diversion route for traffic will be via Whitgift Street and Wandle Road.

          1. Nothing in the Order shall apply:

            a) to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform.

            b) to any vehicle involved in the said events, or being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity, or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.
