Cordy Lane, Underwood And Brinsley - Temporary Prohibition Of Driving, Waiting, Loading And Unloading Order
What is happening?
THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(CORDY LANE, UNDERWOOD AND BRINSLEY)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING AND WAITING, LOADING AND UNLOADING) ORDER 2026 (A26-205)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order, under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in respect of roads at Underwood and Brinsley in the district of Ashfield
The effects of the Order will be:
1. Vehicles are prohibited from proceeding in the following length of road
Cordy Lane, Underwood - For its entire length
Cordy Lane, Brinsley - From its junction with Cordy Lane, Underwood to its junction with Poppy Grange
2. Vehicles are prohibited from waiting, loading and unloading (both sides) (at all times) in the following length of road
Cordy Lane, Underwood - For its entire length
Cordy Lane, Brinsley - From its junction with Cordy Lane, Underwood to its junction with Poppy Grange
3. All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily suspended as required.
4. The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect when the signs are in place.
IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions respecting the above road or roads will apply as follows:
From 20:00, Monday 23rd November 2026
Until 06:00, Saturday 28th November 2026 nightly.
AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available will be:
B600 Willey Lane, B600 Moorgreen, B600 Church Road, B600 Main Road, B600 Watnall Road, B600 Nottingham Road, A610 Nuthall Roundabout, A610 M1 to Nuthall Roundabout, A610 Nuthall Interchange, A610 Kimberley/ Eastwood Bypass, A608 Langley Mill Interchange, A608 Derby Road, A608 Kelham Way, A608 Mansfield Road, A608 Church Road, and vice versa.
The Order will come into force on Monday 23rd November 2026 and any prohibition in it shall apply on that day and any subsequent day when necessary to enable works to be carried out. The Order shall continue in force until the works are completed (within a maximum period of 18 months).
The prohibition is required to enable Via East Midlands to carry out carriageway resurfacing works;
