Notice is hereby given that a Public Meeting is to be held at Fordham Village Hall, Church Road, Fordham, CO6 3NA/ CO6 3NE on 12 October 2026 – 11.00am-13.00pm to discuss the proposals. The proposed designations will be for:
Fossett’s Lane, Fordham – The entire length of Fossett’s Lane from its junction with Church Road to its junction with Rams Farm Road (approximately 2112 metres)
Chappel Road, Fordham – The entire length of Chappel Road from its junction with Moat Road to its junction with Creeping Hall Road (approximately 2170 metres)
The entire length of Pelham Hall Road from its junction with Chappel Road to its termination at Halstead Road (approximately 1730 metres)
Road from Chappel Road towards Hammonds Farm (approximately 369 metres)
School Lane, Great Horkesley – The entire length of School Lane from its junction with the Causeway to its junction with London Road (approximately 1298 metres)

(Various Roads, Great Bentley, and St. Osyth) (Combined Speed Limits) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under S82(1) & (2)(a), 83(2), 84(1) and (2), and Parts III and IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended)
Effect of the order: To introduce a 40mph Speed Limit (an existing National Speed Limit Road) in the Parishes of Great Bentley, and St. Osyth.
Road — Description
B1027 Flag Hill, Great Bentley
From its junction with B1027 Hollybush Hill, and Dead Lane, south-eastwards for approximately 150 metres, to its junction with the B1027 Flag Hill St. Osyth Parish.
B1027 Flag Hill, and B1027 Colchester Road, St Osyth
From a point approximately 150 metres east its junction with B1027 Hollybush Hill, and Dead Lane, south-eastwards for approximately 550 metres, to a point approximately 220 metres southeast of its junction with Frowick Lane.
‘The Essex County Council (Tendring District) (40mph Speed Limit) (No. 2) Order 2010’ and ‘The Essex County Council (Tendring District) (Restricted Roads) (No.4) Order 2008’ are hereby revoked insofar as they relate to those lengths of road in the Parishes of Great Bentley, and St. Osyth, all other roads in all other Parishes on the said Orders that are not mentioned above shall continue in force by virtue of the existing Orders. ‘The Essex County Council (Various Roads, Great Bentley) (20mph Zone, Restricted Roads and 30mph Speed Limit) Order 2024’ is hereby revoked in its entirety. All restrictions shall remain in force by virtue of the new Order.

Application to the high court: Anyone who wishes to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) or on the grounds that any requirement of the Act, or any instrument made under it, has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may within six weeks from the date of the making of the Order apply to the High Court for this purpose.
(Canterbury Road, Colchester) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Canterbury Road, Colchester in the City of Colchester, from its junction with Albion Grove for a distance of approximately 30m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 27th October 2026 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AD01310813915 – Anglian Water Business (National)). Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Coast Road, West Mersea in the City of Colchester, from a point approximately 140m north west of its junction with Victory Road for a distance of approximately 50m in a north westerly direction. Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Heath Road, Fordham in the City of Colchester, from its junction with Wood Lane to its junction with Spring Lane a distance of approximately 925m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 26th October 2026 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2403348 – Essex County Council). Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
To temporarily close that length of Crown Lane North, Ardleigh in the District of Tendring, from its junction with Old Ipswich Road to its junction with Lodge Lane a distance of approximately 1195m.
To temporarily close that length of Lodge Lane, Ardleigh in the District of Tendring, from its junction with Crown Lane North for a distance of approximately 130m in a north easterly direction.

To temporarily close that length of Ellis Road, Boxted in the City of Colchester, from a point approximately 510m north west then north east of its junction with Queens Head Road for a distance of approximately 60m in a north westerly direction.
