Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

MAIDSTONE AREA

A20 London Road, Allington (SUSPENSION OF CYCLE LANE) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow telecoms mast maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily suspend the cycle lane on part of A20 London Road, Allington, on or after 16th October 2026 for up to 1 night or until the works have been completed.

The cycle lane will be suspended from opposite property number 35 Talbot Road to opposite property number 199 A20 London Road, between the hours of 19:00 and 05:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.



B2010 Lower Road, East Farleigh, ME15 0JS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow telegraph pole replacement and associated cable rehanging works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of B2010 Lower Road, East Farleigh, on or after 29th October 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed approximately 50 metres West of Stone Cottages, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

To allow signage and road marking works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of B2163 Ewell Lane, West Farleigh, on or after 26th October 2026 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with B2010 Smiths Hill to the junction with Upper Barn Hill. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The road will be closed from the junction with Upper Barn Hill to the junction with Vanity Lane, between the hours of 19:00 and 05:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

To allow overhead fibre cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of B2163 Lower Street, Leeds, on or after 27th October 2026 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with B2163 Penfold Hill for a distance approximately 500 metres in a South direction, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via B2163 Penfold Hill, A20 Ashford Road, Willington Street, A274 Sutton Road, A274 Maidstone Road, B2163 Leeds Road, B2163 Upper Street, B2163 Lower Street and vice versa.



B2163 Plough Wents Road, Chart Sutton, ME17 3LU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow gully cleansing works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of B2163 Plough Wents Road, Chart Sutton, on or after 12th October 2026 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with Brishing Road to the junction with A274 Sutton Road. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via B2163 Plough Wents Road, A274 Sutton Road, A229 Loose Road, A229 Linton Road, B2163 Heath Road, B2163 Plough Wents Road and vice versa.



Burberry Lane, Leeds (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow telegraph pole replacement and associated cable rehanging works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Burberry Lane, Leeds, on or after 29th October 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed 300 metres West from the track. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Burberry Lane, B2163 Lower Street, B2163 Upper Street, Burberry Lane and vice versa.



Burberry Lane, Leeds (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow telegraph pole replacement and associated cable rehanging works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Burberry Lane, Leeds, on or after 30th October 2026 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed approximately 35 metres South of the junction with Park Barn Road. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Burberry Lane, B2163 Lower Street, B2163 Upper Street, Burberry Lane and vice versa.



Caring Lane, Bearsted, ME14 4NJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow remedial works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Caring Lane, Bearsted, on or after 26th October 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of property number 19. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Caring Lane, A20 Ashford Road, Old Mill Road, Forge Lane, Back Street, Caring Lane and vice versa.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Parsonage Oast. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

To allow telegraph pole replacement and associated cable rehanging works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Headcorn Road, Ulcombe, on or after 12th October 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed approximately 90 metres Southwest of Stonehill Farm Stable. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Crumps Lane, Stickfast Lane, East Sutton Road, East Sutton Hill, Charlton Lane, Chartway Street, Lenham Road, Ulcombe Hill, The Street, Headcorn Road and vice versa.

To allow gas mains replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of North Street, Barming, on or after 26th October 2026 for up to 15 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed at the junction with A26 Tonbridge Road. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via A26 Tonbridge Road, B2246 Fountain Lane, Heath Road, North Street and vice versa.



Old Ashford Road, Lenham, ME17 2QD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow new water main and connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Old Ashford Road, Lenham, on or after 26th October 2026 until 10th February 2027 or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with The Square to the junction with A20 Ashford Road, in 2 phases, from 26th October 2026 to 23rd December 2026 and from 4th January 2027 to 10th February 2027. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via A20 Ashford Road, Faversham Road, Old Ashford Road and vice versa.



Sandway, Boughton Malherbe (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow telegraph pole replacement and associated cable rehanging works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Sandway, Boughton Malherbe, on or after 12th October 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed approximately 15 metres from the junction with Bowley Lane. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Sandway, Coach Road, Stonebridge Green Road, Field Mill Road, Egerton Road, Church Hill, Lenham Heath Road, Boughton Road, Sandway and vice versa.

To allow gully cleansing works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Scragged Oak Road, Detling, on or after 14th October 2026 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Pollyfields Manor. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Court Lane, Cox Street, Scragged Oak Road and vice versa.



Upper Fant Road, Maidstone, ME16 8JX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow electric cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Upper Fant Road, Maidstone, on or after 26th October 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of property number 195. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Upper Fant Road, St Michaels Road, A26 Tonbridge Road, Farleigh Lane, Gatland Lane, Fant Lane, Hackney Road, Upper Fant Road and vice versa.



West Street, Harrietsham, ME17 1GD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow heavy jet and CCTV works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of West Street, Harrietsham, on or after 27th October 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of property number 50 between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via West Street, A20 Ashford Road and vice versa.



Various Roads, Maidstone, ME14 1SY (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & SUSPENSION OF ONE WAY CONTRA FLOW BUS & CYCLE LANE) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow carriageway resurfacing, HFS reapplication, ironwork upgrades and road markings refresh works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic and impose a suspension of one way contra flow bus & cycle lane on parts of Various Roads, Maidstone, on or after 28th October 2026 for up to 24 days or until the works have been completed.

Various Roads in Maidstone will be closed, between the hours of 21:00 and 05:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site, as detailed below:

A20 High Street will be closed from A229 Fairmeadow to Pudding Lane.

A229 Mill Street will be closed from A229 Palace Avenue to A20 High Street.

A229 Bishops Way will be closed from A229 Fairmeadow to A229 Palace Avenue.

A229 Palace Avenue will be closed from A229 Bishops Way to A229 Lower Stone Street.

A229 Lower Stone Street will be closed from A229 Palace Avenue to A229 Upper Stone Street.

Romney Place will be closed from A229 Lower Stone Street to the Bus Station.

A249 Knightrider Street will be closed from A229 Lower Stone Street to Knightrider Court.

A249 Mote Road will be closed from Melville Road to A249 Knightrider Street.

The one way contra flow bus and cycle lane on Mill Street will be temporarily suspended to increase access opportunities for residents and site traffic.

The alternative routes for any through traffic are via:

Diversion via A20 The Broadway, A229 The Broadway, A229 St Peters Bridge, A229 Fairmeadow, B2012 Staceys Street, B2012 Lower Boxley Road, B2012 Well Road, B2012 Holland Road, A249 Sittingbourne Road, A249 Albion Place, A249 Andrew Broughton Way, A249 Wat Tyler Way, A249 Mote Road.

High Street diversion via Pudding Lane, Earl Street and wider diversion route as required and vice versa.

Knightrider Street diversion via A249 Mote Road, A249 Upper Stone Street, A229 Upper Stone Street, A229 Sheals Crescent, A229 Hayle Road, A229 College Road, A229 Mill Street before joining wider diversion route.
