What is happening?

Highways

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

GRAVESHAM AREA

New House Lane, Gravesend, DA11 7LT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

Because of the installation of a zebra crossing with associated street lighting assets and lining, new high friction surfacing on approaches with resurfacing on all entry and exit points, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of New House Lane, Gravesend, on or after 30th October 2026 for up to 3 nights between 20.00hrs and 05.00hrs or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed adjacent to Dashwood Road.

The alternative route is via New House Lane, A227 Wrotham Road, Coldharbour Road and vice versa.



Windmill Street & Zion Place, Gravesend, DA12 9SW (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

Because of Southern Water Services works, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Windmill Street and Zion Place, Gravesend, on or after 26th October 2026 for up to 12 days or until the works have been completed.

Windmill Street will be closed from Zion Place to South Street and Zion Place at the junction of Windmill Street.

The alternative route for Windmill Street is via Windmill Street, B261 Old Road East, Echo Square, Parrock Road, Parrock Street, A226 Lord Street.

The alternative route for Zion Place is via Zion Place, A227 Wrotham Road, B261 Old Road West, Windmill Street.
