What is happening?
Highways
Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.
DARTFORD AREA
B255 High Street, Greenhithe, DA9 9QT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
Because of Openreach works, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of B255 High Street, Greenhithe, on or after 13th October 2026 for up to 3 days between 09.30hrs and 15.30hrs or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between numbers 12 and 18.
The alternative route is via B255 The Avenue, Eagles Road, B255 Station Road, B255 High Street and vice versa.
Hythe Street & Orchard Street, Dartford., DA1 1EN (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING, PARKING & SUSPEND ONE WAY) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
Because of regeneration and carriageway resurfacing works, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Hythe Street and Orchard Street, Dartford, on or after 29th October 2026 until 31st May 2028 or until the works have been completed.
Hythe Street will be closed from Spital Street to A226 Westgate and parking will be prohibited between Suffolk Road and Kia Kebab.
Orchard Street will be closed from Spital Street to Hythe Street and parking will be prohibited.
The one way will be suspended on both roads.
The alternative route for Hythe Street is via A226 Home Gardens, Suffolk Road, Hythe Street and vice versa.
The alternative route for Orchard Street is via Spital Street, Hythe Street and vice versa.
Lower Hythe Street, Dartford, DA1 5AJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
Because of UK Power Networks works, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Lower Hythe Street, Dartford, on or after 17th October 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside Steam Crane Wharf.
There is no alternative route but access will be given when safe to do so.
Pescot Avenue, Longfield, DA3 7NA (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
Because of the replacement of one existing telegraph pole and rehang associated cabling works, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Pescot Avenue, Longfield, on or after 15th October 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside Rosslyn.
There is no alternative route but access will be given when safe to do so.
