The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven on Langham Road, Standish on 7 th November  2026.

Access will be maintained for residents where possible.

The Order is necessary to allow the replacement of frame and cover.

Mount View, Ince – Temporary Closure

Notice of Proposals

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director – Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council proposes to make the Wigan Borough (Mount View, Ince) (Temporary Closure) Order 2026.

The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven on Mount View, Ince on 9th November 2026 between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only.

Access will be maintained for residents where possible. The Order is necessary to replace frame and cover.

Scot Lane, Wigan – Prohibition of Waiting

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Wigan Borough Council, in exercise of its powers under Section 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and the Traffic Management Act 2004 and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act 1984, has made the Wigan Borough (Decriminalisation of Parking) (Wigan Roads) (Traffic Regulation Consolidation) Order 2004 (Amendment No. 200) Order 2026 which will come into operation on 18 th October  2026.

The effect of the Order will be to revoke no waiting at any time on:

•    Scot Lane, Newtown (west side) from its junction with Laithwaite Road to its junction with Hesketh Street.

The effect of the Order will be to introduce no waiting at any time on:

•    Scot Lane, Newtown (west side) from its junction with Hesketh Street to its junction with Montrose Avenue.

•    Laithwaite Road, Newtown (both sides) from its junction with Scot Lane to a point 10 metres west of its junction with Scot Lane.

•    Logwood Place, Newtown (both sides) from its junction with Scot Lane to a point 10 metres east of its junction with Scot Lane.

Any person who desires to question the validity of the Order or any provision contained therein on the ground:

Wigan Council, Town Hall, Library Street, Wigan WN1 1YN

a)   that it is not within the powers of Section 1 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984; or the Traffic Management Act 2004, or

b)   that any requirement of the said Section 1, or of Part III of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or of any regulations made under the said Part III of Schedule 9 or of any requirement of the 2004 Act, has not been complied with, may within six weeks of 17th September 2026 make application for the purpose to the High Court.

Eskdale Road, Wigan – Temporary Closure

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director – Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council has made the Wigan Borough (Eskdale Road) (Temporary Closure) Order 2026 which will come into operation on 27th October 2026.

The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven on Eskdale Road, Wigan on 27th October 2026 to 30th October 2026.

The alternative route for traffic is: Nicol Road – Bryn Road – Alexandra Road. The Order is necessary to allow new electric connection.

Shaw Street, Wigan – Temporary Closure

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director – Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council has made the Wigan Borough (Shaw Street, Wigan) (Temporary Closure) Order 2026 which will come into operation on 27th October 2026.

The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven on Shaw Street, Wigan on 27th October 2026 to 30th October 2026.

The alternative route for traffic is: Nicol Road – Bryn Road – Alexandra Road.

The Order is necessary to allow new electric connection.
