NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of Dorset has made the above-mentioned Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended.
When the Order comes into operation on 2 October 2026 the effect of the Order will be to revoke a number of disabled parking bays at locations in Dorchester, Ferndown, Portland, Sherborne and Weymouth.

If you wish to question the validity of the Order or any provisions contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act or of any Instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order you may within six weeks of the date of this Notice apply to the High Court for that purpose.

Temporary Closure of Various Roads, Tarrant Gunville
DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles, cyclists and horse riders will be prohibited from proceeding along Various Roads, Tarrant Gunville as listed: [i] Unnamed Road between St Mary’s Church Access Road and Valley Road; [ii] Valley Road between the Unnamed Road and Eastbury House Approach. The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 12 October 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 18 December 2026.
This Order will enable Scottish and Southern Power Distribution to carry out new dual lay 11 KV high voltage connection.
A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections.
