What is happening?

(St Clements and Footpath 86, Thaxted) (Temporary Prohibition of Use) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).

Effect of the order: To temporarily close St Clements and Footpath 86, Thaxted, in the District of Uttlesford, as specified below.

Footway/Footpath Description
St Clements (footpath) From its junction with St Clements (road) northeast to its junction with footpath 86 (Magdalen Green).
Footpath 86 (Magdalen Green) From its junction with St Clements (footpath) northwest for approximately 13 metres.

Diversion route: The Tanyard, Orange Street, St Clements, Bardfield Road, Magdalen Green and vice versa.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 05 October 2026 to 07 October 2026 or where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting. The closure is required for the safety of the public while installation and repair work near residential properties are undertaken.

The Order will come into effect on 05 October may continue in force for 6 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Bull Lane, Langley) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Bull Lane, Langley in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 900m north east of its junction with Park Lane for a distance approximately of 50m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 29th October 2026 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (EP20207927502 GTM). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on https://one.network/ . The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while tree cutting works are undertaken by GTM.

An alternative route is available via Park Lane, Langley Lower Green, Langley Road, Valance Road, Upper Green Road, Bull Lane and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 8th October 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Hall Road, Elsenham) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Hall Road, Elsenham in the District of Uttlesford, from both of its junctions with High Street/Henham Road to its junction with Fullers Lane a distance of approximately 615m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 26th October 2026 for 2 nights (19:00-03:00), or where stated on a valid permit (BC311007WGSTP68L – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on https://one.network/ . The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while cabling works are undertaken by Openreach.

An alternative route is available via B1051, Church End, Brick End, Woodgates End, Chapel End, Molehill Green, Waltham Hall Road, Elsenham Road, Hall Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 8th October 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Station Road, Saffron Walden) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Station Road, Saffron Walden in the District of Uttlesford, from its junction with Debden Road for a distance of approximately 30m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 28th October 2026 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MX04410316018 – Affinity Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on https://one.network/ . The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while fire hydrant repair works are undertaken by Affinity Water.

An alternative route is available via Debden Road, West Road, South Road, Station Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 8th October 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Rectory Lane, Ashdon) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Rectory Lane, Ashdon in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 30m west of its junction with Church Hill for a distance of approximately 20m in a westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 13th October 2026 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC411NL001WGQVLW1C – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on https://one.network/ . The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole replacement works are undertaken by Openreach.

No alternative route is available.

The Order came into effect on 24th September 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(The Druce, Clavering) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of The Druce, Clavering in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 90m south west then south east of its junction with High Street for a distance of approximately 30m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 12th October 2026 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC411001WH3CRL0B – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on https://one.network/ . The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole replacement works are undertaken by Openreach.

No alternative route is available.

The Order came into effect on 24th September 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
