Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under S81, 82(1) & (2) (b), 83(2), 84(1)(a) and (2) and Parts III and IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended)

Effect of the order: To Implement a ‘30mph Speed Limit’ (Currently National Speed Limit).

Road Description
Vicarage Lane From a point approximately 165 metres west of its junction with the B1021 South Street, westwards for approximately 309 metres to its junction with Stowes Lane, and the end of the publicly maintainable highway.

‘The Essex County Council (Various Roads, Tillingham) (Restricted Road and 40MPH Speed Limit) Order 2016’ is hereby revoked in its entirety. All unchanged restrictions in Tillingham shall continue in force by virtue of the new Order.

Date of operation: The Order will come into operation on 05 October 2026

Documents can be made available for inspection 8.30am-5.30pm Mon-Thurs and 8.30am-5pm on Friday at Essex County Council, County Hall E block main reception, Market Road, Chelmsford, if so required. Alternatively, documents can be posted to you upon request.

Application to the high court: Anyone who wishes to question the validity of the Order of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) or on the grounds that any requirement of the Act, or any instrument made under it, has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may within six weeks from the date of the making of the Order apply to the High Court for this purpose.

(Fambridge Road, Maldon)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Fambridge Road, Maldon in the District of Maldon, from its junction with Friars Lane for a distance of approximately 240m in a south easterly direction.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 24th October 2026 for 6 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EN013317492A – Essex And Suffolk Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on Causeway one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while water connection works are undertaken by Essex and Suffolk Water.

An alternative route is available via A414, B1018 and vice versa (access only into Fambridge Road).

The Order will come into effect on 8th October 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
