TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER

Oxfordshire County Council intends to make a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

This Order follows the Temporary Traffic Regulation Notice previously issued under Section 14(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (Reference 134). The restriction remains necessary to allow the works to continue and this Order continues the temporary restriction under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Nature of Restriction: Footpath Closure

Location: Footpath Side Of 11 Nuns Acre, Goring, Reading, Oxfordshire

Description of Works: Gas replacement works on behalf of SGN.

Duration: Starting on 12/10/2026 00:00

The anticipated completion date is 13/11/2026 23:59 (inclusive)

(Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders have a maximum duration of 18 months, or 6 months for footpaths, bridleways, cycle tracks and byways that are open to all traffic).

Notice is hereby given that Oxfordshire County Council, in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, has made a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order on 21/09/2026, as detailed below:

Nature of Restriction: Speed Limit Restriction

Location: A4074 Chazey Heath, Mapledurham, Reading, Oxfordshire

Reason: Continuation of the emergency gas escape turned into replacement of main being carried out by SGN.

The speed limit reduction from 50mph to 30mph to 20mph

Duration: Starting on 29/09/2026 00:00

The anticipated completion date is 16/10/2026 23:59 (inclusive)

(Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders have a maximum duration of 18 months for roads, or 6 months for other public rights of way.)

Access: Access will be maintained for emergency service vehicles and for properties within the closed section of road where reasonably practicable.
