Ambleside - Temporary Road Closures due to Utility Works

WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL
(THE GREEN AND NOOK LANE, AMBLESIDE)
(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Westmorland and Furness Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that section of the;

(i) The Green, from its junction with Nook Lane, extending in a north easterly direction

for a distance of approx. 20m.

(ii) Nook Lane, from its junction with Tom Fold, extending in a northerly direction for a

distance of approx. 40m.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of Smithy Brow, Kirkstone Road, Sweden Bridge Lane, Belle Vue Lane and Nook Lane.

Duration: From 20th October 2026 for approx. 1 day (Ref: TTROW/20487)

The Order will come into operation on 20th October 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
